— Application Process for the summer of 2008 —
DESCRIPTION
The Walgreens Summer Corporate Internship Program is a great opportunity for pharmacy students to enhance their educational experience with a corporate perspective of retail pharmacy. A select group of students will spend 12 learning-packed weeks at our corporate headquarters, located just north of Chicago, Illinois. The internship is a full-time program offering a competitive salary and housing. Transportation is the responsibility of the intern.
AGENDA
Pharmacy Services - Provides ongoing strategy development, innovation and supervision to support and enhance the pharmacy department.
Pharmacy Recruitment - Develops and implements programs to attract and retain pharmacists and pharmacy interns.
Prescription Insurance - Works with various third party prescription insurance programs and processors to successfully implement and monitor various plans nationwide.
Pharmacy Governmental Affairs - Reviews state and federal policies and procedures that affect pharmacy operations.
Pharmacy Systems - Develops innovative, customized technological solutions to improve patient care.
Also, the pharmacy interns will join other Walgreen corporate interns in dialogue sessions, presentations by Walgreen corporate managers, several tours and social events.
CRITERIA
Pharmacy student entering their third or fourth professional year of pharmacy school in Fall of 2008, interest in retail pharmacy and minimum grade point average of 2.5 out of 4.0.
