Party Time Favorites

‘Tis the season for entertaining, which often includes friends, family and lots of food. With a few simple recipes up your sleeve, cooking can be fun and you can quickly become the host with the most. Plan ahead, make a shopping list and soon enough, your cupboards will be well stocked and your guests’ stomachs will be well fed.

Here are two of our favorite recipes for the season.  The ingredients are simple and can be found at your local Walgreens – making your holiday hassle significantly less.

Nice!™ Caramel French Toast

• 1 cup Nice!™ Brown Sugar
• ½ cup Nice!™ Sweet Cream Salted Butter
• 2 tbsp. light corn syrup
• ½ cup Nice!™ Chopped Pecans
• 12 slices of thick white bread
• 6 Nice!™ Grade A Large Eggs, beaten
• 1 ½ cups milk
• 1 tsp. vanilla extract
• ¼ tsp. Nice!™ Iodized Salt
• 1 tsp. Nice!™ Ground Cinnamon

Combine brown sugar, butter and corn syrup in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat until thickened, stirring constantly. Pour syrup mixture into a greased 13x9x2 inch baking dish with the Nice!™ pecans. Place six slices of bread on top of syrup mixture. Top with remaining six slices of bread. Combine eggs, milk, vanilla, salt and cinnamon, stirring until blended. Pour egg mixture evenly over bread slices. Cover and chill 8 hours. Bake in preheated 350°F oven 40-45 minutes or until lightly browned. Serve immediately. Makes 6 servings.

Peanut Butter Cookies

• 1 Nice!™ Large Grade A Egg, beaten
• 1 cup Nice!™ Creamy Peanut Butter
• 1 cup Nice!™ Pure Cane Sugar
• 36 Hershey’s® Kisses® Brand Milk Chocolate

Combine egg, peanut butter and sugar. Mix well. Form into small balls. Place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake in preheated 350°F oven for 9 minutes. Remove from oven. Place a Kisses® Chocolate in center of each cookie. Dough will crack. Bake 1 additional minute. Cool on rack. Makes 3 dozen.
