Common Uses:

This medicine is a keratolytic used for treating dry, rough, scaly skin caused by certain conditions (eg, dermatitis, psoriasis, eczema, cracked skin, calluses). It may also be used for certain other skin or nail conditions as determined by your doctor.

Before Using This Medicine:

Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with this medicine. INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. DO NOT START OR STOP any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions, including if the affected area is broken or severely irritated; allergies; pregnancy; or breast-feeding. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns about using this medicine.

How to Use This Medicine:

Use this medicine exactly as directed on the package, unless instructed differently by your doctor. Apply a small amount of medicine to the affected area. Gently rub medicine in until it is evenly distributed. Wash your hands immediately after using this medicine unless your hands are part of the treated area. STORE THIS MEDICINE at room temperature in a tightly-closed container, away from heat and light. IF YOU MISS USING A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE for 1 or more days, there is no cause for concern. If your doctor recommended that you use it, try to remember your dose every day.


DO NOT USE THIS MEDICINE if you are allergic to any ingredient in this medicine. THIS MEDICINE IS FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY. Do not get it in your eyes, nose, mouth, or on your lips. Do not get it in your vagina or use it rectally. If you get it in any of these areas, rinse right away with cool water. THIS MEDICINE MAY CAUSE HARM IF IT IS SWALLOWED. If you may have taken it by mouth, contact your poison control center or emergency room right away. DO NOT APPLY to broken or severely irritated skin. DO NOT USE more than the recommended dose or use for longer than prescribed without checking with your doctor. DO NOT USE this medicine for other skin conditions at a later time. If you use topical products too often, your condition may become worse. Talk with your doctor before you use any other medicines or cleansers on your skin. THIS MEDICINE MAY CAUSE YOU TO BECOME SUNBURNED MORE EASILY. Avoid the sun, sunlamps, or tanning booths until you know how you react to this medicine. Use a sunscreen or wear protective clothing if you must be outside for more than a short time. SOME BRANDS of this medicine are flammable. If your brand is flammable, do not store or use near an open flame or while smoking. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINES, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. FOR WOMEN: IT IS NOT KNOWN IF THIS MEDICINE CAN CAUSE HARM to the fetus. IF YOU BECOME PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. IT IS NOT KNOWN IF THIS MEDICINE IS FOUND in breast milk after topical use. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using this medicine, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.

Possible Side Effects:

SIDE EFFECTS that may occur while taking this medicine include mild, temporary burning, itching, irritation, or stinging at the application site. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience redness; or severe or persistent burning or irritation. AN ALLERGIC REACTION to this medicine is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue. This is not a complete list of all side effects that may occur. If you have questions about side effects, contact your health care provider. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088.


If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. This medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
