Omega 3

Omega 3 is a naturally occurring element usually referred to as omega-3 fatty acids. You can find this element in certain types of fish and plants, but some manufacturers now add omega 3 to different types of vitamin supplements. Walgreens.com carries supplements from brands like Natrol and TwinLab.

Types of vitamin supplements

Vitamins and supplements come in several different types, and you should learn more about each type before you buy a bottle. Softgels look like ordinary tablets, but each tablet has a soft exterior. This soft outside helps the omega 3 capsules break down faster in your body. Gummy vitamins are another form of omega 3 capsules, which feature a sweet flavor and soft texture that you chew. When shopping for your supplements, you can also find traditional supplements that you take with a glass of water. Some people prefer the squeeze packet products, which you can mix with food or water. Many of these products contain fish oil because fish oil is a good source of natural omega 3.

Combination supplements

If you typically eat a poor diet, you might consider using a combination vitamin. These vitamins use omega 3 with other vitamins and minerals such as vitamin C. Manufacturers also sell combination vitamins that use a specific type of product as its base because that product contains multiple vitamins and minerals. For example, you might find omega 3 capsules that contain chia seeds because these seeds contain high levels of omega 3. A good dietary supplement should contain omega 3 and the vitamins that you need.
