I really like the fact that these give you great motivation to stay on track with a healthy eating plan - the "side effects" only happen when you cheat... and no other program offers immediate consequences to cheating. I can't tell if my weight loss is a result of the pills or my new eating program but I think its WELL worth it either way. Its the only thing thats worked for me now that I'm in my late 30s. I plan to use the pills for 6-8 weeks then go off them and try to continue on my own. I figure by then, I'll have created good eating habits again and should do okay. The pills are expensive for those of us on a tight budget but compared to other products and programs out there, again, well worth it.

Alli is working for me I have to admit I am not the most healthy eating either. The side effects are sometimes a little rough but overall they teach you what not to eat and what happens when you do eat those things. I do have to use the restroom quite often on alli but again this is related to me giving in to my craving. So if you are serious and willing to work out and cut out some of your fat you will be fine try it. I have been on it for less than a week and I have already lost 2 pounds

I started using this and thought this does NOT work...until I ate something with TOO much fat in it. It took about 36 hours before I found out what Alli can really do. My advise is to buy some depends..lol. This product is not a quick fix so if you are looking for fast, or a buzz or are thin already skip this. I'm about 30 pounds overweight, but am moderate to active. I referee youth soccer games. I've tried for about 1.5 years to take off the excess weight, which is why I started refereeing. I run alot faster, so I'm in better shape, but the weight is not coming off. I started using Alli 1.5 weeks ago and have lost 3.5 pounds.

I've had a little oily discharge in my stool, and it does make me have to use the bathroom, but not to the point that I can't hold it or make it to the bathroom.

I count my calories and my fat and journal faithfully. I feel better since I'm eating better, and the energy level is ok. I haven't been exercising and still lost 3.5 pounds, where I hadn't lost anything before even while exercising. This product does work.

I've lost 12 lbs. in 9 days with Alli. I'm also eating healthy foods with low calories and low fat grams. I have not had any side effects, but I keep my fat intake less than 15 grams with each meal. I eat 3 meals a day with few snacks (pretzels or 94% fat free popcorn) a day. Most days I have either a 6" veggie or a roasted chicken breast sub (on white) for lunch and then a 6" for dinner. For breakfast I have 1 cup multi-grain cheerios with 1/3 cup of fat free milk. When I have not had a sub, I have had a low fat meal.. like frozen ones. =) I spend 20 minutes, 3 times a week, for excercise. I have over 100 lbs. to lose, so I have a long road ahead of me. With Alli, I'm motivated and I know I can reach my goal! I have been on Alli before, a couple years ago, and weight dropped off.. like it is now. The people this fails for are the people who don't try or want it enough!I grew up an athlete and have always believed in the value of diet and exercise.
I don't believe in the "magic pill" theory and wouldn't classify this as that. This product WORKS WITH DIET AND EXERCISE! If you cheat this will never help you! It will help you every time if you follow the plan. You just have to listen to your body when it says its full, make smart choices and even if its just minimally, exercise your body. You can't go wrong with diet and exercise. And ALLI wont do much without those components. But it definitly increases weightloss when its combined. The will to do it is the magic, this pill just helps you. Its worth it. And I never get tired of people telling me how much skinnier I look and what my secret is. And I tell them it was diet and exercise and ALLI.
And for the side effects concerns, when I eat regular, there's no problem. If you eat something really heavy like cheesecake or Alfredo yea you're going to see ALLI do its thing and remove it. Better out than stuck to your love-handles I say! Eat that every day and ALLI just wont work for you, hell, nothing will work for you! I can still eat those foods, its just once in a while, and I just know I'll have to go. If you ate good you don't even have to waste a pill. I only take an ALLI when I go out to dinner and treat myself.
Think about it this way... if a person wants to quit smoking they will! I wanted to lose weight and I did! Alli was a big help in losing it quicker. Like it says, if you lose 10 lbs of diet and exercise, ALLI will lose another 5 lbs for a total of 15.

I got this as a 120mg perscription from my Dr. before it (Xenical) ever came out on the market as Alli. Cause after a year I could not get off the last 15 lbs of my preg. weight. I was terrified at the thought of using Alli. I had heard about the "pooping your pants" side effect. I very reluctantly began using this product 40 days ago. Have I had side effects..yes. Did I po.op my pants? Heck no. But keep in mind, I eat within my fat range. I don't "treat myself".

My only side effect was an oily stool and I wouldn't have even noticed it had I not seen it. It was nothing major. So far I've lost 9 lbs. If you work at this, it does work. I've lost over 40 pounds since the beginning of May and take this with most meals that contain 'fat' in them. To further highlight another poster's comment on delayed side effects -- the speed of your metabolism absolutely affects how quickly you will experience side effects. The poster below mentioned 3 days -- everyone is going to be different. Amazing how this works. If you eat more than 15g of fat in one sitting, the excess fat WILL be eliminated from your body.

For the first couple weeks woman may want to wear a pad as a precaution. Sorry guys, I guess there isn't anything you can do to help prevent accidents. So stick to the quidelines of the plan to a tee to avoid mishaps!

Definately not a quick fix product! The symptoms listed as "treatment affects" have a delayed reaction. Took about 3 days to kick in. If you have important plans that you do not want interupted go with FAT-FREE all the way until you get ajusted. Excersice seemed to help cut down the treatment affects. If you have a disability that limits excersice I would not take this product. Gotta get up and move! :)

I like this plan because the calorie range and fat gram target per meal for me is quite generous. I have a daily calorie allownance of 1,800 and 19 grams of fat per meal so therefore I do not feel deprived. At times passing up fries and things of that nature has been a challenge and I have slipped a few times but I lost 8 pounds the first two weeks. The treatment effects you are warned about never happened to me even when I ate a meal that was way over 19 grams of fat. I have not been exercising just taking care of my three boys so I guess that counts for something though I'am planing on exercise 30 minutes five days a week. I've been using Alli for 1 week and have lost 5 lbs. If anything it makes you accountable for what you consume. If you go over the recommended fat grams, you will have side effects. There is a lot of variety in what you can eat, and helps you to make better choices. It does keep you honest.

2 weeks into it, lost 6 lbs, with light walking only for excercising. I eat basically what i want, just not over 19 fat grams in 1 sitting. which I did once, and had some mild diaharea. It's just like a babysitter to me ; be aware of what your eating, i eat a fudge bar now, not ben and jerrys ice cream, although you can have it, but 1/2 a cup. or 2 pieces of pizza, not 4. makes me more accountable. good luck

I've taken this product prior to it being available without a prescription. It was extremely expensive and not covered. Taking the OTC version has offered less discomfort regarding side effects -- that could be due to the 60mg dose versus the higher dosage given under the prescription, most likely it is because I am "more well bahaved" with the food choices that I am making while using OTC version.

If you are eating what you are supposed to and not abusing the pill (i.e., donuts, pizza, fast food), you will NOT experience the somewhat scary side effects. 16 grams of fat/meal is quite generous on a weight loss plan. I have only experienced mild bloating with meals around 19/20 grams of fats.

If you go over the 16 grams/meal, the pill does not immediately begin countdown to full stomach implosion/meltdown. If you slightly go over, your side effects will also be slight; however if you are well exceeding the fat grams, the side effects will exceed them being just mild ones.

It is completely in your control if you experience any side effects at all.

I wanted to know what my limits were with fat intake while taking Alli. I ate some cheez it (orange) crakers at night and was shocked the next day to see ORANGE stool. Never had that happen before! I watch the fat intake now, but the side effects the product warns against have not happened. I have not gotten on a scale yet (I have 60 pounds to lose) because I don't want to be tied to the scale. But I really can feel a difference. I think if people expect to see immediate visual results you may be disappointed; give it some time. If anything, I am eating healthier now avoiding the fatty foods I used to gobble up and now pick low fat foods- salads, fruit, lowfat milk and no longer eat the frozen pizza's I am so fond of at night. There are many people waiting to see what my results are before they purchase this little miracle pill.

I have only started the program but tested it to see what the results would be when eating to many fat grams per meal and got no results unless chocolate cake has no fat in it

No results as of yet, I'm taking along with following Weight Watchers so it's hard to tell as I was losing weight before taking this product. No extra poundage has been lost yet but no side effects either which is good!

I started taking the alli pill as soon as it became available over the counter. This pill really works, I saw droplets of oil in my stool.
