I have cubital tunnel syndrome and tried many supports at night, but this is perfect! Soft, comfortable and keeps my arms straight without being hyper-extended. My husband likes not being scratched all night. They are easy to put on and take off. Also inexpensive, and I did a LOT of comparison shopping.

This product helped me work through numbness in the ring and pinkie fingers of my left hand due to leaning on my left elbow.

At first I thought I had carpal tunnel syndrome, but discovered that malady affects the thumb, index, and middle fingers. Cubital tunnel syndrome occurs due to pinching or damage to the ulnar nerve near the elbow.

After visiting a neurologist and receiving nerve conduction testing, the solution was simple. Stop leaning on my elbow! This is easy enough to accomplish during the day, but the problem also occurs at night while sleeping. This is where the elbow support really helps!

The neurologist recommended laying on my back or optimally on my right side so I could keep my left arm straight to reduce strain on the elbow and ulnar nerve. He said I could use a towel and belt to help stabilize the elbow. I tried this for a few weeks, but the towel was bulky and did not stay on very well.

I found the elbow support and decided to give it a try. What a difference! The velcro straps allow you to set the right amount of pressure to keep the support on without cutting off circulation. The built in splint does keep your arm fairly immobile. The only downside is making sure the splint is positioned correctly. I've found that if the splint is behind my elbow and I flex my arm. I jab my elbow directly into the splint, causing the exact impact I am trying to avoid. SImply rotating the support slightly takes care of this.

I found the support will start to loosen slightly over time. The velcro makes it easy to counteract this with a quick readjust. It is much easier to have someone help you with the adjustments, but it can be done solo. Once you set the velcro, it is still easy to slip your arm out without having to release the velcro and readjust. This makes it very handy to put on just before bed.

I'd definitely advise using the support only when you know you won't be using your affected arm. Again, if you have to flex, the splint can push against the ulnar nerve and cause discomfort. It takes some effort to reach this point, so you have to knowingly push the support past what would be expected during sleep.

The support is much thinner than a pillow, and I've found it very comfortable to sleep with. My cubital tunnel has mostly subsided, so I no longer wear the support, but I am happy to know it is available if I need it again.
