I am a new mother and have quite a few stretch marks from pregnancy. I bought this on a whim after reading the good reviews and started using prefer-on on 1/22/10. Now, I'm not completely convinced that this is what has helped the appearance of my stretch marks, but I do believe something has done it.

About a week and a half prior to using this (1/11/10) was when I began a new workout routine; running 2-2.5 miles a day. The more I looked into it the more I felt the need to increase my distance. So 1/19/10 was when I began actually running 5 miles a day consistently. I was doing P90X since the 1st of the year(no longer doing) PLUS watching what I ate via the weight watcher's points system(still in tact). Not only was I working out and watching what I ate but I also started tanning about a week and a half ago.

I was a bit disappointed that when I read others' reviews they were saying how their skin was peeling. Mine has NEVER once peeled from this stuff. Does it dry it out? Yes but never peels for me. This disappointed me because it only makes sense that the appearance would improve if your skin really did peel. I thought this would quicken the process. Hmm but oh well…

I am still real pleased with how my stretch marks are looking. They are, of course, not gone but definitely lightened in colored. Also I must say that the texture of them has improved, but again not convinced that the prefer-on did this. I can still see the deepness of them depending on the lighting but again definitely happy. Would I recommend the prefer-on? Not necessarily. I think I am more convinced that the working out and tanning have helped improve them more than the prefer-on. I think I'll continue to use this and see what 3 months brings. I am ALMOST confident enough with my body to wear a bikini again. It says results are guaranteed, so whatever that means I guess I will see:)

This product is easy to use, I take it everywhere and just rub it on like chapstick to my scars. I have three scars from a laproscopic appendectomy that were raised, dark and about an inch long each. I have only been using the product for one week about 2 to 5 times a day, and they have noticeably lightened and shortened. While not completely gone yet, i plan to continue to use this product. Also this was the cheapest topical scar treatment that I found OTC so I figured that I might as well give it a shot.

I am prone to breakouts and no matter what they always leave a scar and redness behind. I didnt want to keep covering it up with heavy caked on makeup. on top of that my skin doesnt heal that well so i had scratch mark scars on my cheeks that i could never conceal. I was desperate to get rid of the scars. Especially being a female this made me absolutely self conscious. I tried other products which did absolutely nothing for me except waste money. I was even thinking about getting cosmetic work done. Then I read the reviews on this site and decided let me try it out its not going to hurt none. I went out purchased preferon, it looked like a glue stick. I applied it 3 times a day i didnt even get my fingers dirty, my skin started pealing revealing fresh looking skin and the redness is gone. The scratch mark scars are fading away as well and its only been three days. I couldnt believe my eyes i showed my boyfriend and now he wants to try it too. I told him paws off get your own!! I am so happy with this product definitly would buy it again.

I've been using it for almost 2 months for my appendix scar which is 1 year old.
My 1.5" scar is raised and dark but after using this product, only 1" is dark and the .5" is now the same as my normal skin. i think this product really works but you have to wait.

the only thing i do not like is the cost. it is too expensive

i am extrmely upset with the people who are writing the reviews and the product itself. I have been using the product and no results! the the feeling that make the product feel that it is working is the pressure that you are applying to rub it on. the people who created this product should be ashamed of them selfs. there was no sort of peeling of the skin all the product did was made my skin dry in the areas i put it. this was a produck i was not interested in when i seen the commercials as i read the reviews i became interested. and i do not want to hear well "it works for some" because if if there is a good product its going to work for "EVERYONE" point blank.

I have always been proud of my body, but after I had my twin girls the stretch marks made me very self-conscious. I had come to terms with the fact that I would always have these very prominent stretch marks on my stomach. My husband liked to call them my "battle scars" I had seen the preferon commercials a lot but figured it would not work on my "problem areas" I finally gave in & figured WHY NOT~ I could not have been happier that I got prefer on~ Like many of the other reviews that I've seen about noticing a difference by the next day. You see results immediately. The peeling or dry skin everyone is referring to is acutally layers of the scar being removed by the product which is how your body naturally heals scars over time. I use it for a surgery scar and stretch marks that are in places that are not often seen by the sun so the flakey skin does not bother me as much. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to use it in conjuntion with a moisturizer if you use it on your face. I would use Prefer On over Mederma anyday. It's priced way less and all Mederma did was create an itchy film on my skin. I also love that Prefer On is a convenient stick so I can simply apply it to the scar without ever touching the product.

Horrible product. The person above who wrote the review talking about their college degree and how this product works so well and whatnot is so wrong. I used this PreferON stuff and all it did was dry out my skin and make it leathery and peel ALOT. There are NO GOOD RESULTS. I'm not a brand-name buyer; I give every product it's fair chance. But this product is just a waste of shelf space. Honestly, it should be taken off the market.

It works but it's very very slow. You have to be patient. I used it on my acne scars on my face and I did see some smooth results. However if you're prone to breakouts like me you may have to limit your use to once a day. I've used it for about 2 months. Okay product.

Yes it works, and Yes it work quickly. But it does dry your skin. I've only used it for about 6 days now but the dark mark on my face has improved by atleast 30%-40%. Before I bought it I did notice that one of the people on here said it makes your skin dry, but I figured I could balance dry skin with a good moisturizer. I really just wanted the mark on my face gone. But it's not that simple...I realized that the way PreferOn works is like an exfoliant. I gets rid of the top layer of dead skin cells were the mark/bruise is and thus the mark/bruise looks faded or less visible. Therefore, it causes your skin to flake as if your have exfoliated or halfway exfoliated. I noticed this after about 2days of use when I put on make-up and saw that my make-up was flaking. I had to take the make-up off and actaully exfoliate my skin to get rid of the flaking. But I still use it cause it works! I just put vaseline on my face about 20 min before I put on make-up. I hope this helps!

I am a 21 year old male and live in Southern California. I attend the University of California Riverside and have always had acne scars on my face since the early days of high school. I am the type of person that when no matter how severe or light a pimple is, it always leaves a scar behind, even if i dont pick at it.

After reading the many other reviews on here, I felt many of them were fabricated and decided to write my own review, and the reviews that said, "this sucks" wasn't very helpful at all. Many of the reviews on here had one too many exclamation points and were a little too excited about the product as if it was prefer on reviewing their own product. I can guarantee you that this review is legit.

I have old acne scars from years ago on the temples of my forehead and my cheeks from picking and peeling at my scars. I have tried everything to make them go away (including proactiv, tea tree oil, jojoba oil, benzoyl peroxide products) and although it would help my acne, they wouldn't help my scars disappear or lighten as effectively as i wanted it too (i've been using proactiv for years). My scars are like wells and deep scars that were pretty much permanent. I HAD NO HOPE. I also have new scars from recent acne pimples also.

I was really skeptical about this prefer on stick considering their pathetic head on/prefer on commercials. So I figure this couldn't hurt to try and if it didn't work I could always return it for a full cash refund. So I decided to purchase it and after the next 2 days I noticed a VERY significant difference. And no I am not over exaggerating. My scars have not only lightened, but it looks as if my skin is regenerating into fresh smooth skin like it naturally should be. Its been a week after using it and I couldn't have asked for a better product. I always had low self esteem from my scars whenever i'm friends or at school/work and now they're disappearing so easily. When you apply it, you get this tingling feeling which goes away after a minute.

My skin is very VERY sensitive and I break out easily. After applying this, I didn't even break out at all; It doesn't clog your pores. You can apply it and it really is invisible. You can go out to the mall or work or whatever and wear it on your face. It dries up but doesn't leave any residue behind.

My best advice is to TRY IT. Even if it doesn't work (which it worked extremely fast for my deep scars), take advantage of store's return policy. They will let you return nearly anything for a full cash refund after trying it.

IF IT DOESN'T WORK, THE WORST THAT CAN HAPPEN IS THAT IT JUST DOESN'T WORK, AND YOU CAN RETURN IT FOR YOUR MONEY BACK. BUT IF IT DOES, THEN YOUR SCARS ARE GONE.(which is what you always wanted right)

This product has done wonders for scars that I've been spending years trying to get rid of (within only a few days too!). If you really hate your scars and you feel low self esteem from them like I always do whenever trying to talk to the females or meet new people then TRY THIS (key word:TRY). i just started using this product a couple of days ago and noticed my stretch marks to be slightly lighter. the ones on my thighs haven't really improved, but im going to keep using it. i would recommend getting this because your stretch marks should start clearing up pretty fast. it doesnt work to well on scars though(at least not on my scars). the stick also isnt big enough but i think you should still give this product a try.

I could swear I could see a slight change the first day. I have been using Preferon for only 3 days now. It took away the shine on my keloids which came from a large area scold. I had a baby six months ago; I was unfortunate enough to get awful stretch marks on my stomach, breasts, and thighs from the pregnancy, despite the dozens of bottles of cocoa butter and other "miracle" creams I used religiously for eight months. I looove this stuff! i got it 3 weeks ago for my stretch marks. I have terrible stretch marks on my stomach, legs, & breasts. I have tried every thing from coco butter to using plastic wrap and preperation h creams. I saw a commercial and decided to try it and noticed a difference by the next day. I apply it 4 times a day every day and i have noticed a dramatic change. My stretch marks are getting lighter and starting to smooth out. Hmmm, I am quite suspicious about the other reviews. They seem quite high. Well, this is my situation: I have been using the product for about half a month and have not seen even a slight reduction in appearence of the scars. Maybe the reduction will start to show in a few months. I will update you guys in a few months if results do start to show. The product does dry out the skin in some areas. More importantly, this product should not be applied after shaving or if there a even small pores on your skin, because this product makes then tingle/burn and makes them into a scar or atleast makes them darker and easy to see. I hope my review was helpful. As promised, I will update my results in a few months, when results should start to show according to the product, but in the meanwhile just wanted to mention about the open pores/cuts issue and dryness issue. Hi all, my first post to this site. I have dealt with keloids for 15 years, 2 on my face at the jawline and multiple on my shoulders and most recent 2 on my chest. Anyway, I purchased Preferon on a whim at Walgreens last week and started using it multiple times a day (3-5) and I have to say it REALLY works. The keloids on my face are changing color and flattening and the ones on my shoulder (more stubborn) are slowly fading. Anyway, I have tried EVERYTHING for my keloids and this is the only thing that works. The product comes in a stick (like a larger chap stick) and is easy to put on an not noticeable and has no smell. I think I will purchase 2 more, one for work and one for travel so that I can remain consistent in application.

I've tried everything from silicone strips to Mederma, but this is so easy to put on, and it won't stain clothing. The silicone stips are too visable and the Merderma is sticky and it irritated my skin. Prefer on is perfect. You just rub it on the scar a few times a day and you see a difference in a short period of time. I love it.

I have tried 2 other scar removal creams that were messy, inconvenient to use and just did not work at all. I have to admit that I was skeptical of using another OTC product, but this one looked so easy to use that I just wanted to give it a try. The first day I used this product I applied it about 5 times. When I was getting dressed the next morning I actually noticed that it was working. I was not expecting any results so fast since the label says to use it for 3 to 5 months.
