Aspirin

Aspirin is one of the oldest and most trusted analgesics for relief of minor pain, such as headaches, discomfort caused by colds and flu in adults, and muscle aches and pains. Research has shown that small daily doses of this household staple can even prevent heart disease, and there is aspirin specially made to keep your heart healthy as well as a wide selection of aspirin products for pain relief. Walgreens.com has aspirin from well-known brand names like Bayer as well as generics.

Aspirin-based products

Aspirin-based products include aspirin combined with caffeine to keep you alert in the morning and deal with a throbbing morning headache, and special low-dose aspirin for women that contains the extra calcium women need to keep their bones healthy and strong. We even have aspirin powder that can literally save your life or the life of a loved one in the event of a heart attack. There are also many varieties of aspirin besides traditional and low-dose aspirin. These specialized types of aspirin include extra-strength aspirin, buffered aspirin and enteric-coated aspirin. Enteric-coated aspirin is specially coated so that it does not dissolve too quickly in the stomach, and cause stomach pain. Buffered aspirin is also formulated for people whose stomachs cannot tolerate regular aspirin. Our cherry-flavored chewable aspirin can be used as low-dose aspirin for prevention of heart disease, but it is also perfect for children over 12 who do not like to swallow pills.

Who should not use aspirin?

Aspirin should never be given to children under the age of 12 without specific instructions from a doctor. It is also not recommended for patients who have had stomach ulcers. We have a full selection of safe and effective pain relievers for people who cannot take aspirin. Some well-known possible aspirin alternatives include ibuprofen, acetaminophen and naproxen sodium.
