ActiveLife One-Piece Pre-Cut Closed-End Pouch with Skin Barrier and Filter Transparent 1 1/2 inches

The ActiveLife one-piece closed-end pouch with Stomahesive Skin Barrier is designed for maximum patient comfort. Pre-cut stoma openings eliminate the need for cutting, trimming or shaping the skin barrier/wafer. This product combines the simplicity of a one-piece system with the security of Stomahesive. Designed for one-time use the pouch is made of a quiet, odor-proof plastic with a non-clinging fabric that is comfortable next to the skin. A built-in filter deodorizes and releases gasses. The pre-cut style utilizes the large oval skin barrier that eliminates the need for both a support collar and a tape edge.

Note: For flush or retracted stomas, convex products are recommended to increase wearing time. Remember to empty your pouch when it is one-third full. Do not use soap or cleaners in pouch. If desired, rinse only with tepid water.

1. Begin by cleansing the peristomal skin with mild soap and water (soaps should be free of oils and creams). Pat dry thoroughly. The skin should be free of any solvent or greasy substances.

2. For skin barriers with pre-cut stoma openings: Select a pouching system with a pre-cut stoma opening the same size as the largest diameter of the stoma. Do not enlarge the pre-cut stoma opening.
3. Remove white release paper from the skin barrier. Leave the outer release paper on the tape collar in place.
4. A paste, such as Stomahesive® Paste, can be applied to the back of the skin barrier to further fill gaps between the wafer and the stoma. Allow the paste to set for one minute prior to application to the skin. (Do not spread the paste.)

5. Place the pouching system gently in position over the stoma. Press the skin barrier against the skin, paying particular attention to the area closest to the stoma.
6. During application, maintain gentle pressure on the skin barrier for 30 seconds to improve adhesion.
7. After the skin barrier is in place, remove one side of the release paper on the tape collar and smooth onto the skin, working from the center out to the edges.
8. Repeat with the other side, making sure the tape is smooth and wrinkle free.

ActiveLife® closed-end pouches: Filter covers are waterproof and should be used when bathing or swimming to prevent the filter from becoming wet. Remove after use.

Gently pull the skin barrier down, away from the skin, while supporting the adjacent skin with your other hand. ActiveLife® stoma caps: Change as needed.
