Better than others

I had been using "Cortisone 10" which is made by another company. The Aveeno is far better, It not only stops the itching, but clears up the rash. The other one left my skin dry & flakey, but the Aveeno helps the skin heal. There is no significant difference in price from the others.

My mother introduce this product to me when I tried everything, and nothing else worked. I used so many products that didn't work my face became worse. The Aveeno cream healed a horrible rash on my face and gave relief as well. The Aveeno line is natural so safe its use. I would recommend these products to everyone.

Great Product for my Roseca

I love this product for helping with my roseca. I use it as a spot treatment on my cheeks, nose and forehead when I'm having problem areas. I do use Metrogel 1% (perscription) but this seems to work VERY well for breakthru patches. It also works well on bug bites and mild skin allergic reactions. I always have a tube of it around. Yes I do find it works better than regular hydrocortizone, but I don't know that I can quantify how much better. You can also find generics with collodial oatmeal at other drugstores. I just haven't seen a generic with oatmeal at WGs.

To the previous reviewer and others, hydrocortisone IS a steroid. This product contains a mild steroid. I feel badly that someone could assume from the previous reviewer something to the contrary. Most of the time hydrocortisone is the safest and mildest topical steroid. There is also a 2% hydrocortisone cream and ointment avalable (without a prescription).

Everyone else, I recommend you look at the label and read the active ingredients and buy the Walgreens brand with the same active ingredients. If you aren't a label reader, ask the pharmacist to do this for you. It will take them a couple seconds, and you will go home saving money. The generic is half the price of this Aveeno product and will do the same thing. The colloidal oatmeal element isn't a significant therapeutic part of this preparation as the steroid will do all the work; Aveeno would like you to believe that so they sell more of their products. That is their trademark (items containing the colloidal oatmeal).

Save your money and get the generic! Label reading will save you money.

My baby has an eczema and this product works really good!! His doctor prescribed him a hydrocortisone with steroid and that was one of thing that worried me. It didn't really worked that well and his itchiness came back and forth and he was scratching all over making his skin all red and swollen. I tried using aveeno hydrocortisone and saw better results in just a few days. The redness of his skin went away and his skin looked so much better!I recommend this product to anyone with any eczema problems. It worked so good on my baby and it will definitely work on yours!
