Cons: does not work to train a dog not to bark

This product is touted as a solution to barking dogs. The premise is the dog barks, hears a ultrasonic whistle, and stops barking with reinforcement from owner--I am not sure how this works with neighbor dogs as this product promises to control those dogs, also. I am not completely sure that the product did not make a sound as it was 'ultrasonic' and 'audible only to dogs', did it even make a sound? On all counts the verdict comes down to there was no difference in my dogs barking with or without this product.

Cons: wish the frequency range was farther

This product works wonderful! I have two dogs and the noise appears to be similair to a bee/fly, as when first pressed the dogs reacted the same way as if a fly was buzzing around them.

After several times, they just see the device and are quiet!

I bought this gizmo, to stop the neighbor's dog from barking as it ran along the walk, past my apartment to go outside. The dog starts barking as soon as it's feet no longer are on carpet until it reaches any kind of grass. Since the neighbor has odd work hours and likes to stay out late on the weekends the constant barking is really annoying. I have loaded 3 different kinds of new 9 volt batteries in this thing, and the indicator light has not come "on" once. I don't think it works. I have it next to the front door; no ON light and the neighbor's dog is still barking.

I bought this after my daughter who has 2 Shelties recommended it to me. Anyone who knows dogs knows that Shelties are BARKERS, big time! It worked on her Shelties and on my 5 dogs. It allows them to bark once or twice but then they all just....stop! No training. It used to be when someone knocked on the door or my husband came home it sounded like doggie mayhem but so far, peace and quiet!! I've only had it one day so I can't vouch for how long it will last but so far...so good!

In spite of all the bad reviews that I've read on this, there has been a few that said that it worked. So out of desperation to find something to get the dogs next door to shut up and quit barking, I bought one. I was hoping that against all the odds, I might accidentally get one that worked. No such luck. I have found that the only thing that this thing does, is waist batteries. That, it does very well with absolutely no other results what so ever. My sisters dog didn't respond to it, nor did my father's dog respond to it in any way what so ever. And the barking dogs next door that I bought it for, they didn't respond to it at all either, unfortunately.

After we got approval from the vet that this was safe to use, it took only 2 days before one of our dogs, who constantly barked at anything on TV, stopped the barking! She now only has to see the Bark Off on the coffee table and she continues to not bark.
