We have a newly diagnosed diabetic kitty. I took my Bayer glucometer to one of his Vet visits to compare numbers. The Bayer system was much faster and required less blood for testing. The Vet assistant said she liked the way my strip just seemed to "pull the blood right up" and it was much more visible also.

I've used the same Ascensia Contour monitor for 4 years and I've had no problems with it. Battery replacement is simple. I use it an average of three times daily. It's easy to use, compact (great for use at home and away) and it requires no coding. It's great for those of us who have to test our blood sugar levels repeatedly. I wouldn't trade it for anything else I've seen on the market.

I like this gizmo very much and have tried them all. Only problem for me is I llike to download results into computer and e-mail results to Drs. Many companies will supply software and cable to a frequent tester w/o charge. NOT THIS ONE!!

I am not a diabetic but have several family members who are. I stay informed on my own health and this is a great way to check on my blood sugar levels.
