My dad used this from as far back as I can remember. When I first started shaving my legs (6th grade I think) I peeled the top layer of skin off my leg on top. Of course it bled like crazy. I had seen my dad use his styptic pencil to stop the bleeding from razor nicks so I thought I would use it to stop the bleeding on my leg. One thing Daddy forgot to tell me was it STINGS when you use it! I ran that pencil up my leg and boy oh boy, I did a war dance that would have put the Indians to shame. NEVER used it again until MANY years later - lol!

I cut my cat's nail down too far and after applying pressure the bleeding still would not stop. I got this stick and once I got it to the right consistency, it worked like a charm. The only con was that I was not quite sure how moistened it should be to work, but I just kept moistening it until the white stuck.

I've been using this brand of stypic for nearly 76 years! One would think that after such a great length of time shaving I would have mastered the art and not be nicking myself with such frequency – and yet so enthralled am I at the thought of having yet another chance of using this fine stypic, I rush so that I inevitably nick myself thrice or more. Good heavens – such a blessing in disguise.

I heard about this product and decided to give it a shot. It does everything it advertises. I know they've been around for many years and I kind of found it hard to find. Yea it burns a little but it stops the bleeding. I've even started using it on minor cuts that I get from time to time. It's perfect for paper cuts or anything of that nature. Especially since it disinfects as well. I think if you shave or not it's one of those handy little items to have in the house at all times.

Every well groomed man should have this product in his shaving kit. Nicks are easily dealt with with just a dab. There is a slight sting when you first apply the pencil but it quickly stops stinging and bleeding.

I have used this product for years - not for shaving but ulcers in my mouth. It does sting & maybe somewhat messy for a few minutes - but it works. Surprised to see it is still around and will certainly get another - have been using mine for years and it finally dried up.
