KALTOSTAT® is a calcium alginate wound exudate absorber for moderately to heavily draining wounds. It may be appropriately used for Stage II and IV pressure ulcers, venous ulcers, arterial and diabetic ulcers, donor sites, superficial burn wounds, surgical incisions, abrasions, lacerations and traumatic wounds. Available in flat dressings or wound packing rope. KALTOSTAT® Alginate Wound Dressing KALTOSTAT® dressing is a soft, sterile dressing made of calcium-sodium alginate fiber that converts to a firm gel/fiber mat on contact with fluid. It is designed to absorb exudate and to help control minor bleeding. It may be appropriately used for moderately to heavily exuding wounds including Stage IIIV pressure ulcers, venous ulcers, arterial and diabetic ulcers, donor sites, superficial burn wounds, lacerations and abrasions, traumatic wounds, and after-surgical wound debridement.
