This cleaner is wonderful. It cleans all traces of dark or pale gray stains on the sides of the bowl. It's a thick gel so it stays long enough on the sides of the bowl so you can get your toilet brush in action. You don't have to scrub much or with force. You don't have to use a lot. I even use this on the sinks because it eliminates the water scum residue that covers the shine of the china sinks. (Note: my toilets are not old/ruined.) I also buy the Surface Cleaner (kitchen everywhere and spritz on pans/dishes/silverware instead of using "liquid soap". I also buy the Shower Cleaner - it works great on chrome faucets and I use it on my tile floors. I like Earth Friendly products so much I gave away all my other soaps and cleaners to charity/animal shelter. I give my friends Earth Friendly products as presents, and they are delighted too. So happy to find "stuff" that really works.
