Step 1: Remove red battery tag. Move switch to "on" position.
Step 2: Remove scented shade from pouch (scented shades sold separately). Place shade onto wooden base to activate flickering light. The light will automatically turn off after 4 hours.
Step 3: Lift shade and place back on base to reactivate light. To refresh the scent, replace the shade every week.
