Cons: inaccurate result

Please do NOT buy this heartbreaking test. When we received our YES+ on the digital, we were over-the-moon happy and could not believe it. We confirmed the next morning with another brand and it was a complete negative. It was horrible. After reading all these horror stories about this brand, I highly recommend you stay away from this particular First Response Gold pregnancy test.

False Positive!

I got a false positive on this test! I took the test because I had been spotting for a week, but no other signs of pregnancy. So just to rule out pregnancy, I took one of the first response digital GOLD pregnancy tests and it came out positive. I was horrified because I am not planning on having a baby right now. I then took the second digital test in the box about 5 hours later and it came out negative. I have since then taken 7 other tests (First Response Early Results and Clear Blue Easy) and they have all come out negative. I also went to the doctor to have a blood test to be sure and because the spotting hadn't stopped. That was negative too. Now I have been told a million times that there is no such thing as a false positive. And I believed it till now. You could say it was a chemical pregnancy, but the other test was negative just a few hours later, and so was one first thing the next morning. I also took apart the positive digital pregnancy test and there is only ONE line! I was furious. This test has caused me many sleepless nights and stressful days when there was nothing to worry about in the first place! Do NOT buy this test! Just stick to the original line test so they can't come up wrong! It's horrible to have a false positive when you are not financially ready for a child and I can imagine even more horrible to have a false positive when you are trying to conceive!

This past weekend I bought a box of First Response Early Result and the digital gold was a free trial included in the box. I, like the previous reviewer, took both the digital and the two line test at the same time. I also got one negative and one positive. And yes the positive was the digital test. I don't know why, I just had a bad feeling about it, so I went out and got a different brand test. Next morning I took that test and got a negative. I called the phone number on the box and was promptly told I was experiencing a chemical pregnancy and was explained what it was. I argued that if that was the case then why the other negatives? The lady had no answer for me, other than possibly I had malfunctioned the test by getting the electrical part of the test wet with urine. I am sure I did not, but was not going to argue all day waiting for her to admit that the test is faulty. She took my information and sent me a coupon for a free product. I think I will stick with traditional lined tests from now on, as I have read a lot of complaints about all digital tests not being very accurate since apparently they detect two different chemicals in the urine.

I also received a false positive which was so disappointing!!
I bought the First Response package with 2 free regular & 1 free Digital Gold. The 2 days before my responses had been negative, then the morning of my blood test I used the Digital Gold with a big positive. I was really excited, and then later that day I got a BIG NEGATIVE with the blood test! (no way to screw up blood tests) The next day again I took an at home test (EPT brand I think) which was of course negative.

I called them to complain, and they just gave me a free coupon.

Cons: Inaccurate Results

I took this test yesterday morning as well as a regular First Response Early Result Test. The FRER had one line, no mistaken, not a trace of a second line, so imagine my shock and excitement when the digital test popped up as YES+. I was thrilled and just figured that the digital was more sensitive than the regular test. After coming online I noticed that 99% of reviews for this test are bad reviews stating they got false positives. My heart sunk. So first thing this morning I took a Clear Blue Easy digital as well as another REGULAR First Response. Both negative. It was like being punched in the stomach. I was devastated as we have been trying for months and really thought this was finally it. Now normally you could chalk this up to a chemical pregnancy or early miscarriage. But since clearly yesterday morning I got mixed results, the only explanation is that this test is NOT accurate in the least. If you don't believe me - google it. The review before mine on here is the ONLY good review you find.

Was very easy to use and accurate. I love First Response, but the non-digital tests give transparent lines in the test spot, no confusion with digital though. I'm happy with this product.
