This product is very well made and does support without immobilizing-also comfortable. I don't know if this is my answer but it feels helpful and supportive which is so important.

Due to severe osteoarthritis in my thumb I need a joint replacement surgery. Trying to put this off as long as possible I found this product to use. I have tried several others that either hurt or are very uncomfortable. I can even use it at work and I use a computer all day. The removable supports that are great. Since my thumb is acutally dislocated due to the arthritis, this keeps it in aligment so I can work and do daily activities.
THIS IS THE BEST PRODUCT ON THE MARKET.

Excellent product except for the Velcro closure. It is too strong and if you can only use one hand, its very difficult to to take off.
Otherwise, it really works great!

After landing on the palm of my hand during a fall and injuring the tendon between thumb and wrist (nearly cracking the bone) this was the first support after several as well as having therapy that truly gave my hand the proper support and prevented painful movement. I am now using it for the same type of pain, unknown cause this time, on the opposite hand. Again, it seems to be the only support that gets it right when any movement of the thumb causes immense wrist pain. Truly supportive and helpful.

I've had surgury on my wrist in which the tendon to the thumb needed to be cut. Since then whenever I use that hand & thumb too much it gives me discomfort and problems. This product is the only one I've fund with the flexibility to change the degree of stiffness needed and to be so suitable using under varying tasks - computer mouse use, swinging a hammer to using a chainsaw.
