1. Apply bandage roll directly to wound or use to secure first layer
2. Bandage should be rolled on without tension. Do not apply with tension, as excess constriction may result
3. Begin by wrapping around body part and repeat
4. Overlap previous area by one-half to one-third of its width, and smooth after each turn
5. If using bandage roll as primary layer, wrap wound with second layer if needed
6. Finished wrap should be firm but not so tight that there is discomfort. Start over and re-apply if it feels tight or uncomfortable
7. Apply tape in secure dressing
