- Dry your skin well and apply the self-tanning instead of a body lotion
- Use a smaller amount on your elbows, knees, ankles and feet to avoid dark stains. Do not apply to hairline, eyebrows, fingernails and toenails
- Wash hands thoroughly after use
- Wait until the self-tanning has been completely absorbed before getting dressed. The tanning takes effect after approx. 4-5 hours and can be up to 24 hours depending on your skin type, lasting approx. 3-7 days. Use the self-tanning approx. once to twice a week for an attractive, even tan

To decrease this risk, regularly use a sunscreen with a Broad Spectrum SPF value of 15 or higher and other sun protection measures including: limit time in the sun, especially from 10 a.m. -2 p.m. and wear long-sleeved shirts, pants, hats and sunglasses.
