I bought this product today for a business trip from Charleston to Columbia, SC. This device worked perfectly the entire time. The device seems well made and should hold up fine in my glove box.
To address other user issues. Try turning the volume on your MP3 player all the way up and then using the stereo volume to adjust. You may hear static over the music because you are sending the signal at a lower volume than your stereo is set to. If that makes sense. You want your device to overpower any radio interference. I didn't have a problem finding a completely static station between the four available.
The device is simple, it doesn't have a bunch of options you don't need. It uses batteries, so you can plug other devices into your car outlet. I like that. Otherwise my phone would die pretty quick, running Pandora on 4g.
I think a lot of the complaining is user error. If you can't figure out how to make it work, then return it for something else. But the device works fine, if you use it properly. This is the third transmitter I have owned, over the past 6 years, and it's the best and most affordable. I highly recommend this you don't have an aux input in your car.

doesn't if all phones or mp3's as advertised
I needed an adapter that took months to find and then finally constant noise in playback
p.s. still waiting on refund from Maxell Corp.

This thing is a serious piece of junk..if I could I would use a more vulgar word to describe it. I bought it literally not even a week ago and I would hear constant annoying static through my music, and then sometimes the radio music would obnoxiously burst through over my song playing on my ipod. Then when putting new batteries in, the little silver part that holds them broke off so easily, I wasn't even being rough. Seriously a complete waste of my money, will definitely not be going back. I'm really ticked off.

Does what it says it does. Shouldnt have a problem using 1 of the 4 frequencies if you live in podunk or in a smaller metropolitan area. Does the job. You get what you pay for.

I love this product comes in fairly clear on my 1998 chevy malibu. Best product I have bought for this purpose in a long time!

took 2 hr trip and had to constantly change freq to hear it
never got a clear sound
