We looked around and did a search on the internet for an ice cream maker and decided to go with this one because it makes a full 4 quarts instead of 1 or 2. When we opened it up and read the directions, we also found it has an auto-off function that works perfectly and makes the best ice cream we have ever tasted. Lots of recipes on the internet for all kinds of ice creams just makes it that much more of a value. The grandkids love to make ice cream and to add the ice and salt and the machine seems very safe for even the smallest kids. I would recomment this unit to anyone who wants to try making their own without investing lots of money in a pro unit. Works perfect!
