Soluble Fiber from Oatmeal and Coronary Heart Disease
Soluble Fiber from Oatmeal, as part of a low saturated fat and low cholesterol diet that includes 3 grams of soluble fiber from oatmeal per day, may reduce the risk of heart disease. One serving of oatmeal provides 1 gram of soluble fiber.
Product of Ireland
Traditional, for each serving: Add 1/3 Cup of McCann's Irish Oatmeal to 2/3 cup of Cold Water or low Fat Milk. Boil and stir for 3-5 minutes. Tip: Add liquid to oatmeal a couple of minutes before cooking; it will cook quicker. Microwave, for each serving: Add 1/3 Cup of McCann's Irish Oatmeal to 2/3 Cup of Cold Water or Low Fat Milk in microwavable bowl. Stir and place bowl in a microwave oven. Cook for 1-2 minutes. Stir for a few seconds before eating. Note: Because microwaves cook differently, times are approximate. Serving Suggestions: Serve with low fat milk, honey, raisins, fruit or nuts.
