So far this item seems to work fairly well. The elderly person I bought it for was able to program it herself. However, when she read through the directions, it said that a wall outlet adapter was included. On the package, it stated that it was optional. There was no way that it could have fit in the box with the alarm clock. I have not seen it sold anywhere with the "optional" adapter. So, now the person whom I bought this for as a gift is wondering why it was not included as the directions clearly state! I had to tell her that the directions must be wrong and I will try to see if I can buy one to go with it. It is disappointing to buy something as a gift and have it to be missing a part. Now I must look online to purchase this "optional"/"included" adapter. I already spent a lot of money buying this and other items as a gift and am frustrated that I have to spend more to make this gift seem as though it is not missing anything. The manufacturer should change their instruction pamphlet so that it does not state that there is something included that is not! Also, if it is "optional", I would like to see it sold somewhere with this optional part!
