I strained my neck over three weeks ago, and have been taking muscle relaxers and pain meds. But this collar outdoes all the meds. I did not take meds today- just wore the collar. I cannot believe the amount of relief I had from the extra support it provides me. I just got this, so I cannot tell how long the collar will last.

I have a C3-C5 compression injury from 1980. The collar allows my neck to rest comfortably reducing neck, and related migraine pain. I sleep in it and put it on after home physical therapy. It is a lifesaver.
It can be washed by hand in mild soap.
