Cons: Doesn't Alleviate Pain

I have looked all over for miconazole cream instead of a spray. Miconazole is the only medicine that has ever worked for the fungal infections my son and I are prone to when we are under stress. For some reason, the other active ingredients are not as effective. I once went to a doctor for a miconazole cream prescription, but that was so expensive. I switched to the "jock itch spray" that runs out before a full 4 week course. You see, when I am under a lot of stress, I will often get this bad fungal rash on my legs, starting on my calves. Then it spreads to my thighs. They thought it was ringworm at first, but it turns out to be something like jock itch. It is only ever on my legs and I've had it sporadically for several years now. My son also is very prone to ringworm and fungal infections around his mouth. No one else in the family seems to have issues with it, but my mother did. I think it's an inherited susceptibility to fungi. Miconazole cream is the only thing that works for us.

Anyway, the cans of powder and liquid both spray droplets into the air, make me cough all day, and I can't use it on my son's lip. The cans don't last the full 4 week course when it's on both my thighs. Sometimes I don't have time to go get a can when it starts and within 2 days both of the backs of my legs are flared up.

I wish more companies would put miconazole in a cream instead of a spray and sell large quantities in tubes instead of .5 oz at a time. I really wish Walgreens would carry this in store, which is why I took off a star. But, it works and is the only thing that works.
