Fenugreek is typically well tolerated, but some individuals may experience diarrhea or loose stools, or a maple syrup odor to their perspiration or urine. No side effects for nursing babies have been noted. Evaluation by a healthcare profession is recommended prior to taking fenugreek. since fenugreek is a member of the legume family, individuals who are allergic to soybeans, peanuts, and green peas may also be allergic to fenugreek. Use of fenugreek should be avoided if pregnant.
