I've been buying this Nature's Bounty fish oil for a couple years. I've compared all the fish oil labels at Walgreens and this one has the highest level of EPA and DHA per capsule. Other brands sometimes focus on price/quantity of capsules (I'd have to take 8 of these a day?) and only provide an omega-3 total, which is a little annoying. The outside of the bottle has always had the "no fish burp!" blurb. However, I recently bought 2 bottles of the 30 count sofgels and immediately noticed a fishy smell that I have never noticed in the past. Additionally, the softgels were longer and softer feeling. After taking these, I had fish burps, which I've never experienced and definitely does not follow the "no fish burp" plug on the outside of the bottle. So my guess is there's recently been a product change resulting in a stinkier product. I have not identified if this is due to a redesigned softgel, or a change in the type or ratio of fish used to produce the oil. ?? Otherwise, a great product! Anyone else had this experience?

Fish Oil has contributed alot in reducing my cholesterol. This product makes it easy to take one a day rather than four.

This soft-capsule provides almost as much Omega-3s as 3 soft-caps of other fish oil products. What another reviewer said before me makes no sense, he gave 4 stars because he wants Omega-6s to block some of the omega 3s being absorbed. Why buy a high concentration Omega-3 cap if you want to block some of it from getting into your system. In any case, vegetable cooking oils tend to have a lot of Omega-6s so the chances are you are probably getting too many Omega-6s to begin with, unless most of the fats you ingest are animal fats (ie lard butter etc). I haven't experienced any fishy aftertaste with this product.

FIrst it is fish oil that is Mercury free, uses Omega 3s and states the amounts of mg. It does not have the competing Omega 6's that vie for the sites in the body for absorption (according to the NIH web site).
Also it is higher amounts in it for only one pill dosage a day. No after taste.

I was instructed to take fish oil at over 2 gram dose. Most other OTC meds are lower dosage. I compared this one to the prescription med (4 pills/day) and this one is very close to the same dosage/pill. I also checked out another brand and that one requires 2 pills/day as its dosage to achieve what 1 of this pill does.

I take a fish oil supplement in the (perhaps less-than-well-supported) hope that it will produce some cardiovascular benefit. I have tried many different brands; this one produces rather more of the "fishy aftertaste" than others. After I use these up, I won't buy this brand again.
