Doctor recommended low dose of melatonin for my child (age 11) who has trouble winding down at night for bedtime. He is also prone to light sleep and waking often. He's been taking this product for about a year now and it has been a blessing. It does not knock him out, but gently nudges him to begin winding down for bed and he sleeps through the night! No issues in the morning - in fact, he seems to wake up easier and fresher if he has taken this than on nights when he hasn't. He's gotten a good feel for how it works and can now tell me when he feels he doesn't need it. It's a good bargain because you get a lot in one bottle. We watch for the 2 for 1 sale and then we are set for a long time! I feel okay giving him this and am thankful we decided to try it.

I have taken this produce for about 10 days now and it has helped me get sleep 6 to 8 hours uninterupted sleep at night and awake without drowsiness. The only night that it didn't work that well I had over done the caffine during the day.

Although it did not cure insomnia, my sleep is deeper than before. It includes REM sleep now.

Tried it because of insomnia due to Zoloft. Did not work, made my heart race and felt weird. I was up all night. Will never use again!

I like to use Melatonin because I have problems falling asleep. My mind is very active at night. It helps me fall asleep more easily and doesn't make me overly drowsy if I have to get up in the night. I only take 1-2 mg a night. If it were me, I would start small and work up to the dosage that meets your needs. (especially if you get up at night, have small children, etc.) Some people use only 1 mg and I know some take 4 or 5.
It doesn't always help me STAY asleep, but I get several hours of sleep before I might wake up. Those on higher dosages might sleep longer.
The only negative would be in swallowing it. It is not coated, so it begins to dissolve quickly, so you need to swallow fast. I try to take a swallow of water first. I've choked a little, and had to grab a few crackers to get it down, but usually that only happens once in a great while.
Overall I think this is the best answer for me since I have medical problems that cause me to take lots of other meds and I just don't want to take a prescribed sleeping aid that totally knocks me out. Again--try working your way up from a smaller dosage to get what you need from the product.
