I have always had combination skin during the summer but it gets really really dry in the winter. Since moving to DC my skin constantly has began to peel and flake during the winter/snow. I started using Philosophy a couple years ago and swear by the non-lathering cleanser from Makeup Optional but $40-$78 on a cleanser can become very very costly. I discovered this cleanser about three weeks ago and I am very very pleased with the results. The non-lathering clean feeling is amazing, my skin has cleared up and I have not had any peeling, even in 15 degree weather. I am definitely in love and would buy again.[$] the best switch I've made for my skin and my wallet!

I have searched far and wide for a cleanser that doesn't irritate my very sensitive skin. After spending a fortune on other products, THIS product does the trick! My face honestly looks better than it ever has! Previously, my face would be blood red after cleansing. Now, it looks pretty! The only negative I have is that it doesn't do a good job at removing eye makeup. I use Neutrogena's extra gentle cleansing pads for that, which also work quite well.

As an esthetician, I can't help but correct the notion that a cleanser should foam & lather. Ingredients that cause foaming and lathering, and the overall "clean" FEELING that you are referring to are almost always harmful to your skin.
This cleanser is better than you seemed to have judged.

Everyday to wash my face and remove make-up. Gentle cleanser that removes city dirt and make-up. Doesn't lather.

I personally would only use this product to wipe off makeup before I cleanse my face. I love neutrogena products but I thought I was getting a cleanser that would foam or lather up to cleanse away the impurities. I think it is a gentle cleanser because I have very sensitive skin. I am going to just use this to wipe off my makeup before I cleanse my face with the foam invigorating cleanser.I think instead of a cleanser is should say makeup remover. It is good that is doesn't dry your skin out also but is just doesn't give you that clean feeling or look.
