I am a woman in my mid-seventies. Home alone late one night, I somehow scraped the top of my forearm, leaving bunched up skin on one side, and white flesh, which soon was covered with oozing blood. In our first aid box, I found some Tegaderm my husband had brought home. I let it bleed a little, then ran water over the injured area, smoothed the crumpled skin over it, then dried around the edges and put a 2 3/8" x 2 3/4" Tegaderm dressing on it. It filled with blood but never leaked. Gradually, over time, the blood disappeared and the skin grew back. Now, I only have a thin, faint 1/2" mark where the skin was torn. Today my husband had a similar skin tear with some bleeding and I put the last Tegaderm on him, so I will be shopping for more. It is a great product to have on hand -- greatly exceeded my expectations.

I developed a dermal staph infection and needed a bandage large enough to cover the infected area on my upper leg. These 4 x 4¾ dressings were sized perfectly, and allowed me to monitor the healing process without having to peel back the adhesive. They are made of a thin, breathable material that is like a second skin and does not interfere with daily activities. They are also less uncomfortable to remove than other bandages that I have previously tried. The only reason I gave them 4 out of 5 stars for value is because they are slightly expensive.

I USE THIS PRODUCT TO KEEP MY ESTROGEN PATCHES IN PLACE! WORKS GREAT LADIES! CHECK INTO IT IF YOU HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM!

I use these on my father in law to cover the soars he gets from his diabetes. He has a tendencency to bleed very easy and this helps protect the area that is inflamed from getting worse. I don't have to worry about the area getting wet from bathing with these.

I am addicted to the Active waterproof skin cover (now known as Tegaderm). It is great! I had a seriously bad case of poison ivy on my calf, blistered and open for infection. I covered it with Tegaderm, which allowed it to breath so it could still dry out, but protected it from dirt and other bad things so I it would not get infected.
Excellent product! I highly recommend having it on hand, especially if you are active in sports. It is also a great first aid item to have when camping or backpacking!!

I've tried several types of transparent dressings and found the 3M Nexcare tegaderm work the best. It doesn't irritate or itch my skin as the others had. I was recently diagnosed with Type 1.5 diabetes and I use the transparent dressing to keep my CGM Continuous Glucose Monitor from flopping around.
