Rated 3 out of 5 this transport w/c seat too narrow for average adult male/foot rests only suitable for very short people/handles for pushing quite high - I'm tall & found it uncomfortable to handle

I have been using my moms transport chair and I finally broke down and bought this. My husband loves to push me in this and I reccomended it to my mother-in-law.

When i saw the price, 149.00, i figured, that was a good deal. my daughter is 22 and does not maneuver the chair herself, so a wheelchair wasnt necessary. she already owns a heavy-duty custom-made one for school, and for the workshop when she is gone during the day. we ordered this in lieu of a recent mini 3-4 day vacation to Maryland the weekend of may 3rd, a 2-day rock festival. We received the chair 2 days before we left. The chair looks absolutely more beautiful in person. and had more features than i would have expected. the back and seat are a thick heavy-duty canvas. this DOES come with a seat belt, already attached. somebody had reviewed this and said the leg rests were cumbersome and got in the way, but i love the leg rests. My daughter doesnt use them much, as she is only in a chair for travel and shopping. We just pop them off when they are not in use. Included with the chair was a little tool set, but, i had absolutely no need for that. This assembled in 30 seconds! folded out, popped on the leg rests. Bam! done. The steel is high-quality, this handled like a Mack Truck on a grassy hillside for the festival. there are the thingies in the back for when you need to pop small wheelies to go over curbs and such. The back of the seat flips down for when you're storing it in trunk or wherever. Somebody had described this as being candy-apple red, but, to me, it seems more maroon in color. It takes about 3 minutes tops for me to transport my daughter onto the seat of the car, and then put this away in the trunk. she has plenty of room (although she is only 5'2'', 110 lbs). This is absolutely a perfect chair. brakes on back wheels lock nicely, very tight. And, we didnt pay $149. we paid 89.00! and we got free 2-day shipping with some sort of membership thing we agreed to, for a few $'s a year, which can be cancelled at any time.we JUST caught the sale, because the next day, it was back up to 149.00 (still a bargain). and, the pictures do NOT do this chair justice. looks 50x better in person. You will need a seat cushion, of course, but, that is ANY wheelchair or transport chair, even the $500+ ones. Also, this chair is silent, no weird noises. i like that. nice, smooth ride. we put some miles on this thing on our trip. And, at this concert, which we were parked on a small, grassy hillside, the chair was sturdy, and steady. i LOVED that. So, in the grass, and on dirt, it did incredibly well. Cheap but doesnt LOOK cheap. a quality transport chair. it's a winner.

I bought this to transport my 84 y/o mother. She uses a walker but can't go long distances. I was always trying to reserve a w/ch at the assist. living but not always available. I had to rent one for a day trip. Now, no more worries. I can fold it and get it into my trunk very easily. She is just under 200 lbs and fits fine in the chair. It rolls easily. I don't use the seat belt but she loves the heel straps on the foot rests. The handles are a little higher than a normal wheelchair but that might be my only negative. She's short so it supports her whole back. Its very good quality. It arrived with the backwheel nut cap missing...the frame had ripped through the cardboard box ....otherwise no damage. I called cust. service and they're sending me the cap. I have only used it once so far but its great. I'm a nurse so I have lots of experience with wheelchairs and I would recommend this one for the occasional need and transportability. Watch for the sales...its a great value.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Harley The chair arrived quickly and in good condition. It is easy to handle and is a great chair for traveling, due to its light weight and folding capacity. I highly recommend it.

Rated 3 out of 5 It really looks like a good chair. I have one problem getting in the chair. It is not quite wide enough between the arms of the chair to sit down confortable in it. I don't weigh near the amount the chair is suppose to accomodate. It will be very useful if I can learn to comfortably sit down in it.
