This is a wonderful relaxer for fine hair. It isn't too strong, doesn't make your hair so straight that no body is left.

My hair is of medium texture and has been silver for many years. The regular strength left my hair thin and unmanageable such that I tried the mild strength. The first and continuing mild applications have left my hair wavy and with great body. Further, my once thinning hair has thickened, is growing at a fast pace, and is no longer breaking off. I have received numerous compliments regarding the resulting apparent texture of my hair that is now often characterized as "good hair". I wash and condition my hair weekly with products for silver hair and use a moisterizer on a daily basis. I recommend this product.

I bought this perm earlier this week and applied it last night. First I noticed that it didn't feel like icing in my hair like previous perms, it feel almost airy on my hair but i did notice some straightening, moreso in the back as that's where i started. Im really good about setting my timer. even though i noticed my 10 week post relaxer new growth in the front go from tightly coiled to a wavey pattern i let it go. It didn't get completely straight, i still didn't go past my alotted time to avoid over processing. My hair felt thicker yet stronger than previous perms. It was a tad on the dry side but i deep conditioned . i had a ton of body and thickness. i had a lions mane when i was done. not that stick straight hair as before. I tried the mild version. I doubt i will make to my next 10 weeks, but i'll try my hardest. I will get the mild-regular next time or may be even super depending on the state of my new growth. I would say give it try, find the right strength. mild is probably for ladies with REALLY thin hair while regular and extra would be for those with medium to thick hair.

It lasted good that first week. Looked okay a day or two into the second week, but before the second week was over it felt like I hadn't had a relaxer in a good 6 weeks. It might work for somebody, but not for me.

Finally something in a box relaxer that does not overprocess my head...I've been using Oliver Oil Root Stimulator Regular for a couple of years now, until a beautician told me my hair was overprocessed and recommended that I use a milder perm. That's when I came across this and now my hair looks fuller, thicker, and has more body than ever. No more bone straight days for me--hello healthy full looking hair days.

I LOVE this relaxer. I have been using Optimum for the past 15 years and I started using this formula about a year and a half ago. My hair is sooooo healthy and I have no shedding or breakage at all. If you have course hair, this probably won't do you any justice but if you have curly or wavy hair and want it straight then this works great. I also like to wet my hair and go in the summer and I wasn't able to do this without using a ton of product before I started using this relaxer.
I was told by a stylist that it is best to keep some elasticity to in your hair so that it doesn't break and that the relaxer should not make it pin straight so this is by far the best perm that I've ever had in my life.
