Unfold and place training pad on the floor with the plastic side down and the white side up.  Keep the pad in an area where your puppy stays, but away from his bed and food.  Place your puppy on the pad so he can smell the pad's special scent.  If your puppy relieves himself elsewhere, bring him back to the pad as soon as possible.  Once training is completed, if you would like to train your puppy to relieve himself outdoors, gradually move the pad closer to the door and eventually outside.

Quick tips:

• Confine your puppy to a small area (such as a crate or kennel)
• Allow plenty of space outside the confined area for playing, eating, and elimination
• Cover the area where you want your dog to eliminate with these pads

• Pay attention to your puppy and the signs he makes when he's ready to go outside. Signs include sniffing the floor, circling, and starting to squat
