What Plan B® One-Step is:

• Plan B® One-Step is an emergency contraceptive, now available in just one pill. It can help prevent a pregnancy after unprotected sex or contraceptive failure. When taken as directed - within 72 hours (3 days) after contraceptive failure or unprotected intercourse - approximately seven out of eight women who would have gotten pregnant will not become pregnant after taking Plan B® One-Step. But the sooner you take it, the more effective it will be.
• Plan B® One-Step is safe and effective. Plan B® One-Step is FDA-approved and contains levonorgestrel, the same ingredient found in many birth control pills. The difference is that Plan B® One-Step requires just one pill which uses a larger dose of levonorgestrel than a single birth control pill. And, unlike many birth control pills, Plan B® One-Step doesn't contain any estrogen, only progestin.

What Plan B® isn't:

• Plan B® One-Step isn't RU-486 (the abortion pill); it won't work if you're already pregnant, and it won't affect an existing pregnancy.

Plan B® One-Step isn't regular birth control and should not be used that way. Plan B® One-Step is not as effective as other methods of birth control used consistently and correctly. It's important to have another reliable source of birth control that's right for you. Plan B® One-Step won't protect you from HIV infection (the virus that causes AIDS) or any other sexually transmitted disease (STD).

The sooner you take Plan B® One-Step, the more effective it is.

You only have a few days to prevent a pregnancy after unprotected sex or contraceptive failure (the condom slipped, or you missed your pill).
Every hour counts. When taken as directed - within 72 hours (3 days) after contraceptive failure or unprotected intercourse - approximately seven out of eight women who would have gotten pregnant will not become pregnant after taking Plan B® One-Step. And it works even better if you take it within the first 24 hours after unprotected sex, so you should take it as soon as possible.

Plan B® One-Step is NOT an abortion pill. It won't work if you're already pregnant. If you take Plan B® One-Step and are already pregnant, it will not affect your existing pregnancy.

Plan B® One-Step is just one pill, approved for use by the FDA. It contains a larger dose of levonorgestrel than the amount found in many birth control pills. Healthcare professionals have been prescribing levonorgestrel for more than 35 years.

Although safe and effective, Plan B® One-Step isn't right for everyone.

Women 18 years of age and over

• Take Plan B® One-Step as soon as possible, within 72 hours (3 days) after unprotected sex or contraceptive failure.
• That's it. When taken as directed, approximately seven out of eight women who would have gotten pregnant will not become pregnant after taking Plan B® One-Step.
• Note: If you should vomit within two hours of taking Plan B® One-Step pill, call your healthcare professional to see if you should consider repeating the dose.
• Some women may have their period earlier or later than their normal cycle. If your period is more than one week late, you may be pregnant.

Before using this product read the enclosed consumer information leaflet for complete directions and information.   This product is not recommended for regular birth control.  It does not work as well as most other birth control methods used correctly.  This product works mainly by preventing ovulation (egg release).  It may also prevent fertilization of a released egg (joining of sperm and egg) or attachment of a fertilized egg to the uterus (implantation).  See consumer information leaflet.  When used correctly every time you have sex, latex condoms greatly reduce, but do not eliminate, the risk of pregnancy and the risk of catching or spreading HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.  See condom labeling for additional STD information.

This package is sealed with seals imprinted with Plan B®.  Do not use if these printed seals have either been removed or broken.    Store at 20-25° C (68-77°F)
