Tea + Avalon = Tavalon ... Your Tea Paradise!
Our teas:
Tavalon's goal is not only to create the best, premium tea blends the world has ever known, but also to cater these tea blends to the American palate.
Utilizing over 200 focus groups to ensure that we've created absolutely delicious, one-of-a-kind recipes that will fit your tastes, our Tea Sommelier Chris Cason selects and blends premium loose leaf teas from all over the world.
Our inspiration
Music is a passion that Tavalon has always drawn inspiration from. Just like there is a genre of music for everyone, there is a type of tea for everyone. So like music, tea is an age-old experience shared and enjoyed practically everywhere around the world.
The ubiquitous power of music reinforces tavalon's conviction that we can create great teas - accessible not just to connoisseurs, but to those from all walks of life.
Music has manifested itself in virtually every aspect of the company, permeating though not only our approach, but through our teas which we call 'mixes', 'remixes', and 'the uncut.' Like the music from whose name it is taken, mixes are our completely original inventions. Remixes, like in music, are our interpretations of classics. The uncut is just pure, amazing tea.

How to Brew Loose Tea:
Buying premium loose leaf tea is a great first step, it is equally important to know how to properly brew the tea for that perfect cup.
Steeping good tea does not take a PhD, but it is also not as simple as chucking it into boiling water and leaving it to waste. There are easy ways, however, to steep the perfect cup. In fact, there are nearly as many brewing methods as there are teas. We've evaluated the many steeping methods and here provide the most effective and functional ways to infuse the ideal cup of tea.
The trick to steeping tea correctly comes in three parts: time, temperature and volume.
| Type of Tea | Time | Temperature | Volume |
| Black | 4-5 min | 212 F° | 1 tsp / 8 oz |
| Green | 2-3 min | 180 F° | 1-2 tsp / 8 oz |
| White | 1-3 min | 180 F° | 2 tsp / 8 oz |
| Oolong | 2-4 min | 180 F° | 1-2 tsp / 8 oz |
| Herbal | 4-5 min | 212 F° | 1-2 tsp / 8 oz |
Using too much tea will make your tea bitter and your wallet empty. Too little tea will bring a weak cup and a sense of longing. The volume that is considered the "golden ratio" of leaves to water is one teaspoon of leaves per 8oz cup of water. However, the light and voluminous teas will taste best with twice that.
