You can't turn this pad on or off; you have to hold a lever down the whole time. The lever feels 'tinny' or flimsy so I'm afraid holding it down with a rubber band may break it.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by thermophore fan I love my thermophore!
I have joint "issues", the thermophore is wonderful for relieving pain, helping me relax and it just feels good!! Great for everyday use - I used my last one for over 15 years almost every night. It is also wonderful when sick - almost as good as a warm bath.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by SOLSIC Best Heating Pad Ever
This was a perfect buy for me. My neighbor let me borrow hers and it was a life saver for my back pain.[...]It's the biggest heating pad I've ever seen. It's great because you can't leave it on, you have to press the lever to get the heat. It also gets very hot so you need to be careful. Once you release the lever it starts to cool down and then you can re-press it to start it up again. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by lsa thermophore 14 x 27 moist heat pad
[...] This pad gets HOT. The heat produced is unlike any regular heating pad in the stores. The design for the trigger you must hold to produce heat is a necessity for this product to make it safe to use. I wouldn't recommend it for persons that have issues with perception of feeling as it does get very hot. The heat is intense and therapeutic as it heats deep. Great product.

This is the 2nd one I have owned, the first I wore out. I have looked for years for another one. was thrilled when I found one at Walgreens online. I have nothing bad to say about it. It works great and it also gives the mositness you need.
