For the price this item could be better constructed. One of the feet tabs was missing upon unpacking, not a really big deal. Overall the unit feels extremely "cheap". The back also gets extremely warm so be mindful of that. I recommend sitting it on something like a towel or slip stop, it slides very easily on any smooth surface.
As for the purpose of the lamp, I feel that it does work. I do feel more energized when I use the lamp but only long term use will tell.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by drum I wpuld like to be able to lower it so the it ists at my level instead of me haveing the keep my head up. I can't read or type while using it because I can't tilt my head down (per the enclosed directions). Have only been using at a week. doesn't seem to be making a difference so far.

This lamp has changed my attitude. I feel happy, and more energetic. After about 5 days of usage, I felt a chemical shift in my body, like I was outside on a warm summer afternoon. This product is easy to use and is worth the cost. It has the specifications one wants in a light therapy lamp. I recommend it to anyone, especially if you live in the Northern States where sunlight is valued!

It gives off a glow that definately makes you feel warm. If not properly positioned, sunglasses are recommended. I do feel a sense of well being when using it and it makes a fantastic reading light. The only "con" I have is finding a place to set it up and positioning correctly.
