I bought this thermometer on Christmas, used it on my child and it kept reading different temperatures. And the last time i used it was reading 104.2.. So i took my son to the ER to find that his temp was really 102.3! Extremely inaccurate.
I did like the setup and ease of use.. Shame it didn't work properly.

This was a very good buy. I have one child whose ear-holes are too small for the 'in the ear' types to work properly (even at the hospital). I needed a quick temp accurate thermometer that my entire family could use. This one fits the bill!
My initial complaint (and it's actually very minor) is the 'quick set up' instructions aren't very thorough at explaining how to use it. I kept getting an error (POSition) with a triple beep, but then I read in the larger booklet how to do it right and realized it was all user error. MAKE SURE YOU DO IT RIGHT before you give up on this thermometer if it isn't working for you - it works VERY well if you follow the larger booklet's instructions!!
You have to have it in the right location (that part's easy), hold it still, and then press and HOLD the start button on the back side till it beeps and flashes the temp. This would be only slightly easier if they could put the read out screen on the back side where that button is instead of toward the child's head where the sensor is, but after a few tries I figured out I was pressing and releasing the start button too quickly. Very pleased with this product and would definitely buy again.
My kids range from toddler to teen and this is the best thermometer I've had since the first were born. I needed this immediately to replace a cheap oral digital during my daughter's stomach bug, so rather than order online I drove straight to the store after reading about this one online. I liked that Walgreens.com would have let me return it in store if I'd ordered online, had that been necessary. I'm so happy with it, well worth getting out in bad weather to buy it!
