If you have hard water that leaves limescale do not use this it leaves white residue on the unit and whatever is directly in the mists path, it will also cause you to cough...if you can look past that it works great

I had to take a gallon jug to fill it. I am going to start using distilled water in it. Found the replacement air filter on line for around [$]. It has helped my allergies. However, it is loud enough to the point that it kept me up for three nights until I got used to it. Last night was my first night that I slept (with it on). I do recommend this product to other people.

To all the people who say that their humidifiers are starting to grow mold......if you use distilled water in it, it won't mold.

This humidifier soaks the carpet and fails to humidify the whole room of my daughter's small bedroom. I called vicks and they told me it will only humidify 8x8 so no they wouldn't refund my money.

This unit worked well the first few months after purchase; however, the motor became very loud and mold started growing on the motor and base. I tried scrubbing but it won't come off completely. Due to this there is a bad odor. Could not find filter replacements either.

I definitely pay when I do not run my humidifier at night. I am able to breather easier and feel better when it is running. The only downside that I have found to this particular model is that it can be difficult to fill. I have remidied this by cleaning it every morning then bringing it back to my bedroom and filling it with an empty gallon jug.
