Bought this on a whim...would never have bought it if I read the reviews...as I had the same experience. Supposed to cool off after 2 hours....cools off after about 5 minutes. Worthless!

This is the most useless heating pad i have ever bought. It will not stay hot by the time it heats up the timer shuts it off. After ten uses the heating pad will not heat at all anymore.

This heating pad works well for 5 minutes then cools down. You have to turn it off for a while before it will get hot again.

it heats up quickly, and then cools down soon after. Then, it remains only a tiny bit warm. Not useful as a heating pad.

This heating pad is very nice except that the blue fabric cover should have at least two more snaps. The heating pad is slippery vinyl and the "pillowcase" cover is slippery synthetic. The pad has a tendency to slide out out and the single itty-bitty flimsy plastic snap isn't strong enough to hold the cover closed. It is annoying to have to keep putting the cover back on, and that is why I detracted two stars from my rating for quality. I sewed two additional snaps on mine. My ultimate recommendation is that the manufacturer should affix three to five snaps, or use a strip of velcro or a nylon zipper instead.

I have owned one of these and had it for several years and it worked great for every pain (I have chronic pain so it was used a lot). I used it without the cover, with the cover, tried the moist thing but didn't find that useful, and have laid on it for my back with no problems. Use the cover and of course exercise caution, but it was a relief until it finally gave up the ghost recently. I will be in to buy a new one this afternoon.
