Females have the disadvantage of having to go through so many different types of issues throughout their life and each person is different does not make it very easy to find the one product that will work for you. I will tell you though I go through at least 2 boxes of these tampons each month. This has been going on for quite a while and I have used, Tampax, I have used OB, I have tried a ny and all tampons that are available out there. I will say this, Back in the day, the 80's when I was a teenager, this is exactly what Tampax offered, this is all they had, cardboard applicators. So to say that they do not work is funny to me because it is what several generations of women used and we made it. They are cost effective, especially if you go through them like I do and they are good for the environment and IF YOU USE THEM CORRECTLY you will never have leakage.

I thought Id give these a try to see if they compare to Tampax. They don't compare, it was a complete mess, bled through constantly

I don't know why the last person who wrote a review was so dissatisfied. I think, the Walgreens brand works just fine. The only con I can point out is that _once in a while_ the applicator needs to be loosened a bit before insertion (i.e. sometimes the cardboard is a little tight in place and you need to loosen it so the tubes slide well into each other).
Absorbency is fine. I can't use a 'Super Plus' for heavy days...I need 'ULTRA' (part of the o.b. brand) for the heaviest day but then I switch to Super Plus anything (and Walgreen's price is unbeatable). Tampons are way too expensive. :p
Also - ladies... it might be nicer (easier, smoother) to use a plastic applicator but think about our environment! Use the ones with card-board applicators...and at home...maybe have some without applicators (even less waste).

See above, some things you just should't buy generic. Maybe if they kept their shelves stocked I could have gotten my usual Tampax.
