Rated 2 out of 5Â by CP Poor value, filters pricey & hard to find
Pitcher itself does not hold much water. Filters are very slow to process water. Extremely short life cycle. I live in the country with tanic water with a lot of lime. I may get 7 or 8 gallons per cartridge, then the water taste fishy. If I can find the filters, it is [$]for a box of 4 filters, not something I can easily slip out of my grocery money! I am going back to my watercooler, 10 gal for [$] vs 8 gal for [$], hmmmm.

too expensive to operate ie: purchasing filters every 2-3 weeks.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by Chockie L limited filter life
I want very much to like the zero pitcher, but the filter just doesnt seem to last long enough.I`ve used mine for about 3 weeks, and already have a tart taste described by another user. The pitcher itself is well-constructed and has an easy-pour spout,a push-button dispenser, and included water tester. But if these filters dont last longer than this,it may not be worth it.Its a shame, because the filter produces great-tasting water while it does work.I suppose a better filter that filters more solids is going to have a limited lifespan, and if you have lower than average local water quality or use a well, your results will be even worse.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by TerryM Great for 2 weeks only
While the water did read 004 on first use I must say it tasted great. But 2 weeks into it we noticed a sour tart taste to the water. Tested the water and it was at 030 but it tasted way worse than our tap water that tests at 540.
I took the whole thing apart, cleaned it, even tried rinsing the filter out and while the numbers dropped a little the water still tasted nasty, maybe even dangerous.
We bought 2 spare filters when we purchased the unit from a local Walgreens so I put a new filter in and the taste is better but the numbers are still not zero. If this filter only lasts 2 weeks or if the weird tastes comes back I think it's going to the Good Will pile.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by the filter man better than brita?
I bought the Z-pitcher thinking it would offer better filtration than the more popular brita water pitcher. And it does seem to provide purer and better tasting water than brita..closer to bottled water or vended water in taste. However, the filter and tester do deliver some quirky results sometimes, despite doing everything properly.I have had no bad odor problems,as others have described, but the filtration capacity does seem limited, compared to brita, and filters arent always readily available.Nonetheless,it does offer very pure water,if only for a short time.It filters slowly, compared to brita, and has a more substantial multi-stage filter.Of course, municipal water quality varies from city to city, and so too will your results with this product.
