I bought this because I had a cut on my gum that was becoming infected and wasn't healing. I put this on it and it healed in two days. A different time I had a spot of thrush and it cleared it up basically overnight. It turns your mouth/teeth kind of purple if you're not careful but it's easy enough to localize it to one spot.

Breast Feeding Mothers Alternative

This is great for nursing mothers who have a yeast infection. You will know you have one on your nipples when you feel a burning, itching sensation. When severe it will progress to a stabbing pain unlike plugged ducts which throb. Paint some on your nipples with a cotton bud (using alternate sides; double dipping will contaminate the bottle and may cause reinfection) and air them out to dry. Place your breast pads on and every time you nurse your baby, the baby will be treated for thrush too. It does stain and it will turn your babys lips and mouth purple but it only needs to be used for about three days to rid yourself of the yeast infection. Beats going to the doctor and standing in line to get a prescription if you ask me!

Many minor uses cuts,burns can be used on humans and pets.
Cost is great, shelf life long.
The only thing that I found was it is messy, but put on with a Q-Tip just a drop at a time then apply.

I wash off lid and top after use then keep in small zip lock bag it medicine cabnet.

I've used Gentian Violet since I was a small child;it was Grandmas remedy.I have effectively cured skin infections such as MRSA, Impetigo,diaper yeast infections,Thrush,and general skin infections,such as wounds from chainsaw accidents!It is an antibiotic as well as an anti-fungal,so it has many uses.It IS a stainig agent,so be careful of clothing and fabric.The stain can be removed from hard surfaces with bleach or Clorox Clean-up.Enjoy!

Mom's Remedies Still Work The Best

I have been using this stuff since I was a little girl. It's really hard to find, so I'm super glad Walgreens (my favorite drug store) has it. Every time I get a canker sore I try all of the "new" remedies my doctor and the pharmacist recommend, but they do not work or take a week to work. I put this on my canker sore and it's gone within 24 hours. It gets all over your mouth (liking purple helps!) but it's worth it. Nothing works as well as Gentian Violet for canker sores and thrush!

I used this product to get rid of the thrush in my infants mouth. I bought this stuff on Thursday and his mouth was fully clear of thrush Saturday morning. Its a bit messy and stains clothing, but I just let him wear something I didn't to much care about and the staining wasn't too bad. To some it all up, theis product really works and I would definitely recommend it to anyone else! :-)
