Mix one, two, or three packets in 16 oz of water to obtain the following modified Burow's solution:

One packet; 1:40 dilution; 0.14% aluminum acetate
Two packets; 1:20 dilution; 0.28% aluminum acetate
Three packets; 1:13 dilution; 0.42% aluminum acetate

Do not strain or filter the solution
Can be used as a compress, wet dressing, or a soak

Soak a clean, soft cloth in the solution
Apply cloth loosely to affected area for 15 to 30 minutes
Repeat as needed or as directed by a doctor
Discard solution after each use

Soak affected area for 15 to 30 minutes as needed, or as directed by a doctor
Repeat 3 times a day or as directed by a doctor
Discard solution after each use

Poison Ivy symptoms

I am allergic to tree sap. While I was out removing an old juniper bush from my yard, some of the branches broke the skin on my shins. These scratches turned into a full blown rash with seeping, itching, blistering, and burning. I tried everything over the counter, went to the doctor and got prescription strength ointment for poison ivy, but I knew it wasn't that. I know what poison ivy looks like and it I hadn't been in contact with any. It was from my allergy to tree sap. I was at my witt's end, and finally was talking to a pharmacist, and he recommended I try this. Relief in the first treatment. By the time I'd found out about this stuff my legs were pretty bad and I had to use every bit of it to clear up the rash and seeping, but it was a miracle if you ask me. After dealing with huge bandages under my nylons just to keep the area clean and keep it from sticking to my pants.... I suffered for months before finding this product.

It worked the very first application to clear up a rash that had been re-occurring for a long time. The redness is gone and so is the itching! I got great relief from a great product. It's on the expensive side but worth every scent!

I HAVE AN ENGLISH BULLDOG WITH LOTS OF WRINKLES THAT GET IRRITATED AND ITHCY WITH SKIN BREAKDOWN...MY VET RECOMMENDED THIS SOLUTION AFTER EVERYTHING ELSE HAD FAILED IN HELPING. I APPLY IT TO AFFECTED AREAS EVERY OTHER DAY. IT WORKS GREAT. MY DOG IS VERY HAPPY NOW.

Beating the cancer

I'm going through cancer radiation and my skin broke in a few spots giving me severe irratation. Tried this on a clean wet washcloth in my MD's office. Experienced instant relief. No need to scrub. Just apply the wet washcloth to the burn and let it sit for a few minutes. It also helps keeps the radiation area clean.

I also like that you can store the liquid solution in a covered container for up to a week.

My Dermatologist recommended for Hives

Cons: Messy

This was recommended to me by my dermatologist for my very sensitive skin. I had an allergic reaction to a product and this dried the hives out and stopped the itching. I rarely see this recommended on the internet for hives, but it is so very helpful for me~

It is a little bit messy as you have to make a solution and then use compresses, but I just take a paper towel and dab it on the affected area, then let it dry. Works just as well.
