I was a skeptic. I was a scaredy cat. I actually made an appointment with my hairdresser. Then I thought: "Well, I might as well try it. I have an appointment to get it fixed anyway." I haven't seen this shade of my hair in almost 15 years. It has taken every drop of fake color out of my hair and left me with my 100% natural color. It's incredible! Now for the most amazing part...my greys are still gone!! CRAZY!
I have been coloring my hair with only a semi-permanent color for about 10 years. I am too afraid to do anything permamnent. I have always used the Natural Instincts and it worked well for me. For some reason, two days ago, I decided to try another brand and decided to go a little darker...BIG mistake!! My strawberry brown/Auburnish hair came out dark brown with a pinkish tint. I was mortified!! I washed my hair about 10 times trying to get it out and nothing worked. I found this product at Walgreens, but made an appointment with my hairdresser anyway. I didn't think I'd have the courage to use it. I am SOOOOOOOO glad I did!!! Not only is my hair my original color, which I haven't seen in forever, it is healthy AND my greys are still gone. Unbelieveable!
Some tips:
* If you are only trying to get rid of semi-permanent color, don't leave it on the full 20 minutes. I did 15 and it was perfect!
* Follow the driections to the letter: including washing and rinsing for 5 minutes 4 times. I was pruned when I got out of the shower, but VERY happy!
* Buy a good conditioner for afterwards and your hair shouldn't suffer any damage. I have extremely dry hair, and even my hair is fine!
* DO the strand test...just in case.
God bless the man/woman who developed this product!

I was quite worried that this wouldn't take out ALL of my color properly, but it did! However my color seems a bit lighter than my natural color, but it's totally doable!!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by gina AMAZING PRODUCT
I have used this product last year and again yesterday. Last year I used it to take jet black dye out of my hair and it worked amazingly. Yesterday I used it to take out dark brown/red. Last week I used a high lift for brown hair I think it was downtown brown by feria, it came out nice, a light reddish brown but i wanted more red/auburn so i went to store and got Olia light auburn. Well that was a disaster. It turned my hair a dark brown with coppery roots. I kinda liked the coppery roots and was wanting that color all over. I kept washing my hair to fade the dark brown and it was not working so yesterday I got this amazing product. I put it on my ends and length first and left the coppery roots. After they were all saturated i then combed it through onto my roots (roots take the quickest so ALWAYS do them last). Put on my cap and left in for 20 mins. Next step is to rinse and shampoo. Did that and then the most IMPORTANT part is to RINSE FOR A FULL 20 MINUTES! This is the part that gets rid of the molecules. If you do not do this step then you will not get rid of the color...it will oxidize and come back in the next 24 hours. GOT THAT? OK. After you rinse for a full 20 mins you shampoo 1 more time and RINSE AGAIN for a full 5 minutes. Then condition.
My whole head came out a gorgeous light coppery brown which is exactly what I was striving for to begin with! I do not even need to dye over this because it is a perfect color for me. My hair is not damaged from this product. It is a little dry but I have dry/curly hair and I do not see a huge difference in dryness.
If you use this product exactly as directed (the rinsing part!) Then it WILL work for you. Do not be afraid. If you have brown hair and it turns a light reddish brown do not freak out. Us brunetts tend to have red undertones and this might bring them out HOWEVER once you use this product you are now ready to apply new color. NOW THIS IS IMPORTANT: If you decide to recolor your hair..now please listen very very closely: YOU MUST USE A LIGHTER HAIRCOLOR THAN WHAT YOU ARE AIMING FOR BECAUSE YOUR HAIR WILL GRAB THE COLOR IN 5 MINUTES AND TURN BLACK. This happened to me last year. After I used this product I wanted a light brown hair color. If you want any color brown after using this product, use a color from the BLONDE Family. Do NOT use anything from the brown family because it will turn BLACK in 5 mins. Trust me. If you use a medium blonde your hair will turn a nice light brown color.
I hope this review helps you. The people that are complaining are obviously not reading the directions. Just remember to rinse rinse rinse!! and then rinse again!!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by SpiritGirl Took the Green out of Hair
The only reason I'm giving this 4 to 5 stars was I was hoping for more results, but the results may be because of my own doing. I have naturally blonde hair with alot of gold in it. I bought a lighter hair color product and it turned my hair too yellowy. So I went to Sallys and got a toner to tone it out, or so I thought. Well the toner created greys and greens in a good portion of my hair, mostly my highlights. I looked horrible and was in shock. Afraid to color it again and ruin my hair or have more color shock, I wanted to get the green out and figured I'd live with the gold in my hair until it will naturally tone out with purple shampoo. I have to say I was pretty amazed that this product worked so well. Within 20 minutes I could see the color lifting from my head. I did wash my hair and rinse it for 15 minutes, washed it again and rinsed it another 5 minutes, and washed it again with a purple shampoo and conditioned it. My hair is yellowy still but the green it out. Purple shampoo will eventually tone down the brassy yellow color but I'm pretty happy.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by MarMar i have been dying my hair exotic/neon colors (hot pink, blues, purples, etc.) for the last 5 years. over time ive bleached my hair about 7 times in the past year (yeah i know its horrible for you hair but my hair is completely healthy). a friend recommended this because it took her firetruck red out of her and got it to a stawberry blonde. so i thought id give it a try. the smell was horrid it literally smelled like rotten eggs.
my experience with the product:
my hair was purple but was kind of fading out before i used the product.i was highly skeptical because i didnt want my natural brown to come back and really needed my hair to fade and my purple was just stained :/. i really wasnt sure if it was going to take out my purple but somehow amazingly when i washed my hair after (20 minutes of rinsing, do it or the smell sticks with you).and when i got out of the shower i could still see a little of blue and pink tints but my hair was almost platinum blonde which i havent had since last year. i am overly happy with the results. i would most definitely reuse this again! THANK YOU COLOR OOPS.

Rated 2 out of 5Â by jittterbug Didn't work
Let me just say that I followed the directions perfectly, because I really wanted this to work... My hair is naturally a dark blonde/light brown color. I recently colored it a semi-permananet dark brown, but did not like it. After researching COLOR OOPS, i rushed out and bought a bottle. I just got done using it, and not only did i follow directions, but i rinsed an extra 15 minutes! My hair is not back to my normal color, but is a reddish coppery color instead. It isn't as dark as before, but it's not my natural color either. It's somewhere in between. I don't know how it will look tomorrow, as I've heard it usually darkens up a bit. Not too happy with this reddish color, but at least it's not orange. I guess it could be worse...
