WALGREENS "NEW GUEST SHOPPING SPREE" ONLINE SWEEPSTAKES OFFICIAL RULES
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. OPEN ONLY TO LEGAL RESIDENTS OF THE 50 UNITED STATES, EXCLUDING PUERTO RICO, WHO ARE 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER AS OF 12/01/06, THROUGHOUT THE SWEEPSTAKES PERIOD.
SWEEPSTAKES OPEN ONLY TO FIRST-TIME REGISTRANTS WITH WALGREENS.COM. DUPLICATE REGISTRATIONS WITH WALGREENS.COM WILL BE CONSIDERED NULL AND VOID FOR THE PURPOSE OF THIS SWEEPSTAKES.
SWEEPSTAKES SHALL BE CONSTRUED AND EVALUATED ACCORDING TO UNITED STATES LAW. DO NOT ENTER THIS SWEEPSTAKES IF YOU ARE NOT A LEGAL U.S. RESIDENT. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
1. ELIGIBILITY: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR CLAIM PRIZE. PURCHASE WILL NOT IMPROVE CHANCES OF WINNING. Sweepstakes open to legal residents of the 50 United States (excluding Puerto Rico) who are 18 years of age or older at time of entry and are not currently registered with Walgreens.com. If you are already a Walgreens.com web site user registered on Walgreens.com, you are not eligible to electronically enter. Registered Walgreens.com users may enter the sweepstakes via the mail-in option listed in paragraph 2. Employees, officers and directors of Walgreen Co. (the "Sponsor"), its respective subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, webmasters/suppliers, members of immediate families (spouse, children, parents, siblings) and persons living in the same household (whether or not related) of such employees, officers and directors are not eligible. Void where prohibited.
2. HOW TO ENTER: Sweepstakes begins at 12:00:01 AM Central Time ("CT") on December 1, 2006, and ends at 11:59:59 PM CT on February 9, 2007, ("the Sweepstakes Period"). You may enter the sweepstakes in the following way:
(I) ONLINE: Visit www.walgreens.com/newguestshoppingspree during the Sweepstakes Period. You must first register as a Walgreens.com web site user by selecting the "Register now" link on the sweepstakes page. After you have registered as a Walgreens.com web site user, you must complete and submit the official sweepstakes entry form as directed. Online entries must be received and recorded by 11:59:59 PM CT on February 9, 2007. Limit one (1) online entry per name and per e-mail address. Walgreens.com administrator's computer is the official clock for online entries for this sweepstakes.
(II) MAIL-IN: Hand print your name, address, daytime telephone number and date of birth on a 3" x 5" piece of paper. Mail your entry in a first class stamped envelope to be postmarked by February 12, 2007, and received by February 16, 2007, to: Walgreens "New Guest Shopping Spree" Online Sweepstakes, P.O. Box 7211, Deerfield, IL 60015-7211. Entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned. Limit one entry per person, e-mail address, and household, regardless of method of entry.
3. DRAWING/PRIZES/ODDS: On or about February 23, 2007, a random drawing will be conducted from among all eligible entries received to award the following prizes: (1) Grand Prize: winner will receive a $500 Walgreens gift card. (1) First Prize: winner will receive a $250 Walgreens gift card. (1) Second Prize: winner will receive $100 Walgreens gift card. Potential winners will be notified by telephone, express mail and/or postal mail at Sponsor's sole discretion on/or about February 27, 2007.
4. GENERAL: All taxes on prize and expenses relating to acceptance and use of prize and not specified are the sole responsibility of winners. By participating, entrants (and entrant's parent/legal guardian if entrant is a minor in his/her jurisdiction of residence) agree a) to these rules and decisions of Sponsor and judges which shall be final and binding in all respects and in all matters relating to this promotion; b) to release, discharge, indemnify and agree to hold harmless Walgreens, its respective advertising and promotion agencies and all of their respective parents, affiliates subsidiaries, agencies, agents and representatives and all of their respective employees, officers and directors from any liability or responsibility whatsoever for any claims, costs, injuries, losses or damages of any kind (including, without limitation, claims, costs, injuries, death, damage to, loss of or destruction of property, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation, or portrayal in a false light), arising out of or in connection with the promotion or from their acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any prize, or participation in the promotion or any promotion-related activity; and c) if a winner to the announcement/use of name, voice, image and/or likeness for trade, advertising, publicity and promotional purposes without compensation, except for residents of Tennessee and where prohibited by law, by Sponsor and those acting pursuant to Sponsor's direction, in all media now known or hereafter discovered, worldwide, including but not limited to the World Wide Web, without notice, review or approval and agrees to execute specific consent to such use if asked to do so. In no event will Sponsor, its respective advertising and promotion agencies and all of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents be responsible or liable for any damages or losses of any kind, whether direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, punitive or other damages. Grand Prize, First Prize and Second Prize winners (and winner's parent/legal guardian if entrant is a minor in his/her jurisdiction of residence) will be required to complete an Affidavit of Eligibility and a Liability/Publicity Release (where legal), which must be returned within time specified by Sponsor or an alternate winner will be selected. If documents or any prize are returned as non-deliverable, or if a winner is found to be ineligible or not in compliance with these Official Rules, winner will be disqualified and an alternate winner selected. If a winner is not of the age of majority in his/her state of residence, prize may be awarded in the name of or to parent or legal guardian (as solely determined by Sponsor) who must execute all documents and agree to all undertakings of winner set forth in these Official Rules. Sponsor, its respective advertising and promotion agencies, all of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, agencies, agents and representatives and all of their respective officers, directors and employees are not responsible and shall not be liable for: a) telephone, electronic, hardware, or software program, network, Internet or computer malfunction, technical errors or by any human error which may occur in the processing of entries, or the incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry or other information, or the failure to capture, or loss of, any such information; b) failed, incomplete, garbled, corrupted or delayed computer transmissions; c) lost, late, misdirected, mutilated, incomplete, illegible or postage-due entries or mail; or d) any condition caused by events that may cause the promotion to be disrupted or corrupted. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel or suspend the promotion or any portion thereof should any causes corrupt the administration, security or proper play of the promotion, and select the winners from entries received prior to the action taken or in such other manner as deemed fair and appropriate by Sponsor.
5. ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS: By entering this sweepstakes, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the sponsor that shall be final and binding in all respects. Walgreen Co., nor its agencies is responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by web site users, tampering, hacking or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the promotion and assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or technical error or unauthorized access to the web site. Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with any entry or voting process or the operation of the promotion or web site; to be acting in violation of the Official Rules; to be acting in violation of the terms of the web site, or to be acting in a non-sportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. Any use of robotic, automatic, macro, programmed or like entry methods will disqualify all entries and votes using such methods. No more than the stated number of prizes will be awarded. In the event that production, technical, electronic, digital, seeding, programming or any other reasons cause more than the stated number of prizes in any prize category, as set forth in these Official Rules, to be available and/or claimed, Sponsor reserves the right to award only the stated (but unawarded) number of prizes in that prize category by a random drawing from among all legitimate eligible prize claimants in that prize category. Entry information and entries become property of Sponsor. In case of dispute, the authorized subscriber of e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses. No prize transfer or cash redemption or substitution, but Sponsor reserves the right to substitute prize with prize of equal or greater value should prize become unavailable.
IN NO EVENT WILL WALGREEN CO., ITS RESPECTIVE PARENTS, AFFILIATES, SUBSIDIARIES AND RELATED COMPANIES, THEIR ADVERTISING OR PROMOTION AGENCIES OR ALL OF THER RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, REPRESENTATIVES AND AGENTS, BE RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OR LOSSES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF YOUR ACCESS TO AND USE OF INTERNET SITE www.walgreens.com or www.walgreens.com/newguestshoppingspree OR THE DOWNLOADING FROM AND/OR PRINTING MATERIAL DOWNLOADED FROM SAID SITE. WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, EVERYTHING ON THIS SITE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. 6. PRIVACY: Information submitted with an entry is subject to the Privacy Policy stated on the web sites.
7. CHOICE OF LAW: All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of entrant and/or Sponsor in connection with the promotion shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard for conflicts of law doctrine, and all proceedings shall take place in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois or the Circuit Court of Lake County, Illinois.
8. WINNERS' LIST: For a list of major prizewinners, mail a self-addressed, stamped envelope to be received by February 10, 2007 to: Walgreens.com "New Guest Shopping Spree" Online Sweepstakes, P.O. Box 7211, Deerfield, IL 60015-7211.
