Makeup for Your New Look
Makeup for Your New Look
Show off your new color in style
Looking to expand your beauty horizons? There's nothing like an exciting new haircolor to
transform your look - but your cosmetics bag will need a makeover too. Find out which shades
make the most of your gorgeous new hue.
Blonde
Lighten things up with a soft color palette. On eyes, warm shades like shimmery vanilla,
apricot, and pink are ravishingly pretty. Going for evening drama? Charcoal or chocolate brown
adds a smoky edge without appearing harsh. For lips and cheeks, choose pinks, sheer berries, or
peach tones to brighten your complexion and avoid a washed-out look.
Red
Coppery or earth-toned hues offer a sultry compliment to red or auburn locks. Want to cool
things down? Experiment with green or gray eye shadow, making sure to blend well. To rev it up
at night, try a red or brick lip color and give cheeks a glow with a soft pink blush. One
caveat: don't overdo makeup - fiery tresses make a statement that's striking enough on its
own.
Brunette
Dark locks can handle a strong eye or lip, so you can revel in bolder shades. Brunettes
look fabulous in rich burgundy and red lip colors, while deep browns, rich purples, and berry
tones work beautifully on eyes. But save the drama for one feature. For example, a crimson lip
should be paired with neutral eyes. Opting for a smoky eye? Keep lips subdued with a flattering
neutral.
Black
Raven locks deliver instant impact, so your makeup can follow suit. If you're fair skinned,
avoid going too pale (especially with foundation) or you'll risk looking ghostly. Sheer plum
shades are smashing on fair to medium types, while dark complexions look gorgeous in opaque
plums and jewel tones. And nothing says bombshell like ebony hair paired with ultra red lips
(Just remember to tone down the rest of your makeup).
