What are the side effects of Mobic?
Mobic® (meloxicam) is a
non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) available by prescription. It is used to treat the
pain of osteoarthritis. Mobic® was designed to cause less heartburn, nausea and stomach ulcers
than other NSAIDs like Voltaren® (diclofenac) or Naprosyn® (naproxen).
Mobic's most common side effects
Mobic's most common side effects include upset stomach, diarrhea, gas, heartburn and stomach pain. Infrequently, some people experience more severe side effects when using Mobic® such as stomach ulcers and stomach bleeding. To minimize your risk of side effects, use the lowest effective dose of Mobic® for only as long as your physician recommends. Patients with cardiovascular (heart) disease should discuss the risks of taking any NSAIDs on a long-term basis. You should not take Mobic® if you have an allergy to aspirin or other NSAIDs.
