What are headaches and migraines?
A headache is pain or discomfort in the head, scalp, or neck areas. Headaches may be caused by tight muscles in the shoulders, neck, scalp or jaw. Headaches may also be related to stress, depression, anxiety, head injury or prolonged positioning of the head in an abnormal position.
Migraine headaches may include intense, throbbing pain, nausea, vomiting, and/or sensitivity to light and sound. The warning symptoms are the inability to see clearly, or to see bright spots and zigzag patterns. Migraines often start before age 20, affect both sexes, but are more common in women
